I thought that this was dead in the water a couple of weeks ago b/c of the SEC rule that players have to have 2 years of eligibility to transfer. It used to be one year but the rule was changed after the Masoli from Oregon to Ole Miss issue.

However, the news of this being possible has picked up again over the last few days - including on national media (PTI and others)

They will have to apply for a waiver, but the SEC revised the rule I believe.

You have to apply.

BUT, bama did it last year and was successful. So there's at least a very recent measuring stick.

Braxton Miller could transfer in, no problem.

Everett Golson would need a waiver because he was in poor academic standing due to academic dishonesty.

This is my understanding.

And also, Miller graduates as of this Dec/Jan. Right now. So, he'd be able to come in for the spring, I think. Golson would definitely not be able to join until summer.

Assuming Miller's injuries heal well, he is the best option.

Speaking of, what is the exact injury? Wasnt it a non-throwing shoulder?

Can he throw a football anymore? That seems to be the bigger question.

Why would Miller come to LSU over FSU or Oregon assuming he's wanted there?

He probably sees the potential in the offense and feels like a QB is the missing piece of the puzzle.

Would you want to follow a Heisman trophy and likely NC winner without any time in the system?

Wasn't Cam Newton at Auburn for just one year?

Who has Oregon put in the pro's that was successful. In fact, who running that type of offense has done anything besides Kaepernick in the NFL and he's fading.

FSU is a serious threat, their proven development of QB's vs the higher probability at starting at LSU. Seems to be the angles both schools will take if interested.

Miller is light years ahead of what we threw out there this yr. That is if he can come back from his injury and throw like he used to.

LSU must find a plug and play QB for this yr.

No but if he wanted to go to Alabama they would allow it.

Nah, only bama can have graduate transfers in the SEC. Will be denied.
