We always stay at one of the team hotels near Old Market and the stadium. That way, everything is walking distance and there is no need for a car. Hotels have shuttles to most outlying restaurants, airport, and Barrett's.
LSU was at Embassy Suites in 2017 and Hyatt Place in 2015. There is also a Hilton Garden Inn, Doubletree, and a large Hilton near the stadium. Typically three or four teams stay at that Hilton. There are two hotels (Holiday Inn, Hampton) directly across the street from TD Ameritrade, but I'm sure they're pricey.

I befriended some locals. Now I have free place to stay each year. Plus they have invited me to a Nebraska home football game. Air fare is my only cost.

We’ve always stayed at either the Homewood Suites or Hampton right across the street from TD Ameritrade. Park the car and walk everywhere, except Uber to Barrett’s Barleycorn!
They’re pricey but the convenience pays off.
