Omaha bars after LSU advanced to the CWS last night..

I live in Omaha, and the people here absolutely LOVE when LSU is in the CWS. I have been told by many people that our fans make the event better than years we aren’t in it.

In 09 on one of LSU's off days, we were hanging out in a bar in Omaha and some fan of another team got cut off. He was pissed, arguing with the bartender. Then he points at us and gripes that we had been there drinking longer than him. The bartender said, "yeah, but they're from Louisiana." True story. Also subtle brag that I was there in 09.

Godspeed. CWS was fun, but two winters was enough for this coonass
ETA: I can confirm that they love us over there. LSU got beat in the supers by Coastal for my CWS living in Omaha, but there were still plenty of LSU fans around

I went to the Rice super Regional. LSU didn't advance but there were a lot of LSU RVers there that were still going to Omaha
Anyway, a retired LSU charter pilot and his wife were there. She told us a story about her going to the grocery store for supplies right after they got to Omaha one year.
She was behind fans of a California school. When the fans from California were checking out they tried to write a check. The cashier told them matter-of-factly that the store did NOT accept out of state checks.
So when she got to the register she told the cashier she was going to have to put some stuff back because she didn't think she had enough cash to pay for everything.
The cashier told her "don't worry about that, you are an LSU fan and LSU fan's checks are considered local in this store"

I remember seeing an interview with a bar owner in Omaha. They said they absolutely love LSU coming because even after a loss, they drank and eat like no other teams fans.

There was a post on here years ago with newspaper articles, TV interviews etc, and it was clear that Omaha loves LSU like no other fanbase and the feeling is mutual. I wish I could Geaux this year but no even allowed out of the damn house rn, but have some buddies going. I will Geaux next year
