That's fine with me. As long as Omaha isn't "north Baton Rouge."

Omaha is also Mogadishu West- they brought in a ton of skinnies and now have a huge gang problem.

Exactly! They don't like LSU, they like the $$$ that LSU brings. Big difference.

You are right and you are wrong. They like the money but they really do like LSU.

You know Not what you speak of...

I don't find Omaha to be all that special. St. Louis would be a better venue if they're set on keeping the CWS in the Midwest.

Stay home and watch it on TV because you just don't get it and never will.

I disagree... yes we bring money but a fanbase can bring money and be rude and obnoxious. We bring money and are the life of the party.. so whats not to like??? You saying that they only like the money and not the fans is ridiculous

When we played Texas four years ago everyone from cab drivers ,waiters, bell boys all said how much they loved LSU fans and how arrogant Texas fans were.

Omaha and Nebraska folks in general have liked LSU for a few reasons:

- LSU was there 4 out of 5 years in the late 80s before they broke through and won it all. So, they had some underdog status. Everyone likes an underdog.
- Usually, when a team starts dominating, the locals pull for the underdog against them. This was delayed in LSU's case because the 3rd time (1996) LSU made it to the title game, it was Miami -- there are not many teams Nebraskans hate more than Miami. (see 1983 Orange Bowl)
- Lesser of two evils: Every time LSU has won a CWS title, with the exception of 2000, the opposing team was one that Nebraskans loathe (or the fanbase): Wichita State (2x), Miami, Bama, TEXAS.
- Obvious $$$ draw to local businesses. But, if you are a younger Omahan, you probably would rather not see LSU because we bring a disproportionate amount of old fat guys instead of young hot coeds. In this regard, ASU always >>>> LSU.

Carry on.....

Yeah I'm a lot more nervous getting to the BR airport than flying.

This was my experience as well. People were very friendly, and in one bar people were buying us drinks because we were wearing LSU gear.

The money argument is kinda dumb, when the Super Bowl came to New Orleans I wasn't like," thank you so much for your money pats, we are oh so gracious", I was more like " thanks for your money, now go home".

Demographically and in terms of civilization...not a whole lot of difference between the two places.

The only caveat is that Somalia probably doesn't have a Popeye's and/or Church's.
