I don’t understand this
Threadgill was pitching well before he went out with soreness
I fully expected him to come out & do well
Some of you just look for any reason to shite on a player

Threadgill did pitch well but don't tell me you nor CPM expected that. If you were still trying to win the game after Walker was gone you would have put in Vietmeir or Beck.
I wasn't expecting it, but I have no idea if CPM was expecting that.
I can guarantee you that CPM was still trying to win the game. To say otherwise is a little silly. Beck only went 1 inning (15 pitches) & Vietmeier threw only 20 pitches in 2.1 innings. Technically, both could throw tomorrow if necessary. That wouldn't be the case if Threadgill didn't go in there.
In the end, CPM made the right decision. The bullpen didn't give up any earned runs, & our bullpen is in very good shape for Sunday.

Threadgill did pitch well. It bodes well for the future. But CPM/Dunn were as surprised as you and I were.

Our bats too often lay an egg at any given time.

You could look at it like this, or you could think that on any other day with less wind we would have had at least 2 homeruns and a couple more doubles. Just gotta bounce back tomorrow

Right now they’re at a lost on deciding who should pitch where. Walker is a good pitcher but not ready for starting weekend series in sec play, just doesn’t have the movement on his ball. Hopefully we can get good use of Marceaux tomorrow.

Who will be left for relief? Hess is burned. Fontenot is gone with all those pitches. Vitt done. Used Hilliard as a starter. Beck tonight. I mean, Marceaux could go the distance.
The streak is in serious jeopardy

Stop watching.
Why would I stop watching?
I believe they have talent to turn it up and be great down the stretch. I’m watching in hopes for that moment but as of right now they’re pretty fricking listless

This team really struggles vs LHP.

Peterson
Fontenot - he only threw 1 inning on Friday. Should be able to go 2 innings.
Beck - only threw 15 pitches tonight
Vietmeier - only threw 20 pitches tonight

George has done well in his last few outings
IIRC Costello too
We actually have a strong bullpen

are you serious? I don’t know how many pitches Viet through tonight but assuming he’s done, that makes him and Hilliard our for tomorrow. The rest of those guys should easily be able to go tomorrow.
Eta: missed Hess, yes he’s not available tomorrow.

quote:no thanks. They are both screwed in the head and are walk machines. Ole Miss is too disciplined at the plate for the likes of them.
Peterson and Fontenot
Beck and Viet are about it and Ole Miss saw both. Beck is about the best option...
