3 of us stayed the whole game, I would say maybe 25,000 were at the end. In about 5 years there will be about 90,000 people claiming to be there.

You shouldn't praise us - any reasonable person would have left that game. Fortunately there were about 20k fans who were completely irrational and unreasonable who stayed. It was fun.

You should never lose faith in our Tigers. The players lose confidence when we lose our confidence first. Those guys on the field were playing for themselves in the end, despite having less than 20k attendance at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Oh I never lost faith - in the way that a Saints fan never loses faith.
Now I think I know how it feels to be a Saints fan. You poor people.

I stayed... I told people we were about to witness the biggest comeback ever for the Tigers. I was just joking of course - but hell it happened - so I am now a prophet!
You are awesome. Love the good natured spirit!

First of all, while waiting for the band to march down the hill, I got soaked, (knees and below), along with everyone else standing along the sidewalk when the sprinklers went off. Then we sat in the SEZ with north wind hitting us head on for 4 qrts. Stayed damp for at least 3 qrts.

Side note about booing. A young guy, HS age I guess, sitting behind us was very upset about the booing. When booing occured all around the stadium and particualy in our area, he pleaded very loudly "DO NOT BOO LSU", "DO NOT BOO OUR TIGERS". When the booing continued along around the stadium with the sparse croud, it did stop in our area. To the young true Tiger fan in back of me...

To other who were there - how loud would you say TS was compared to an average full attendance game?

It seemed to me it was about half as loud. which tells you something about the 3/4 of the fans who left early.

Hearing the Alma Mater at the end of the game never sounded sweeter.

My son sent a text with about 3 min to go to see if I was still there. He feared my wife had gone with me and she would've tried pressuring me to leave. Fortunately she wasn't there.

Anyone who goes with me knows rule #1...I see the last play of the game. I love LSU and if I'm going to the effort to go to the game, I owe the team...football, baseball, basketball...whatever...my support for their efforts.

And once the "boo birds" left...the stadium got a little louder!

I had to look at 4 different bars before I found a place to sit. Stayed and watched the whole game and was wishing the whole time I had a ticket! Hard to watch the first half but what an awesome second half!
Wish I would have had a ticket for that one! Made me sick to see the stadium as empty as it was. Everyone who left early should have their season tickets taken away and not allowed to get them for at least 3 years until they learned their lesson!

but in section 301 it was like being at Devil Rays game in September 2007

That's just funny. 321 in the south upper was pretty bare as well. This was one game where you needed more people around you to keep you warm. Glad I at least had my trench coat.

Next time go to the Stadium. I know people who have gotten into games for free just by talking with the people at one of the gates. Not to full games - but if the game is half over and the stadium is mostly empty, I'd bet anything you'd be able to find at least one nice person at one of the gates that would let you walk in.

If you were in Baton Rouge you should have just walked around the outside of the stadium before the game. People were giving them away.

Heck, he probably could have found some laying on the ground.

For all of you amazingly loyal fans who "stayed the whole game." I heard that the Athletic Department is going to hand out gold stars to each of you and give you an extra 5 minutes at recess tomorrow!
