I'll start first, I dogged pap at the beginning of the year and thought he might be the worst hitter in LSU history. He certainly deserved some criticism at the beginning and middle part of the season but he has completely turned it around. I'm glad we have him on the team. Hopefully he will continue his success during the post season.

I was critical of the hitting at times this season, particularly hitting with RISP. Hopefully the team will continue to prove those criticisms wrong throughout the postseason.

How many times did Les Miles "turn it around" and eventually look at what happened to him. So if there isn't an Omaha trip this year is Paul getting a pass because of the "turnaround" or are we still saying Omaha or bust?

I was critical of CPM for our hitting woes. Never thought we would be in this position a month ago. Looks like they are ready to put a run together.

Mid season I didn't think we had a chance to be where we are now, mainly because of inconsistency from the bullpen.
Now I think our bullpen is what will keep us moving forward in post season play.

Hess success as a dependable set up guy has made the difference.

You can quickly find out in this thread who is still holding out hope that LSU will fail so they can complain.

I think the measure of a successful season for any team like LSU should be making a Super Regional.

Once you are there anything can happen in a best of 3 series. If it was a best of 7, spread out over long period of time, then yes you can say LSU has to make it to Omaha....

Best of 3 though...not So much.

I said I was puzzled about Mainieri's decision to promote Gibbs to hitting coach last November.

But now........well, I'm still puzzled about Mainieri's decision to promote Gibbs to hitting coach last November.....

Losing Cannizaro really, really hurt in the stolen base department. Other than that, the differences aren't anything to write home about.

I accept that I may have overreacted out of anger when a listless team lost to teams they were supposed to beat. I'm still not sold that they'll make a run in the postseason with Sketchy hitting and inconsistent pitching.

I plead guilty to giving up about 3 weeks ago. Coach Mainieri looked like he had lost his fire and the team was following his lead.
What changed ? I don't know but I hope they can keep it going. This team is talented enough to make a run.

Will you start the same thread when some nobody team beats us to knock us out of the postseason again?
