Gausman coming to LSU is huge. Rarely do u get a 6th round pick to stick.

him not getting the money he wanted may have something to do with Lee.

I didn't think we had a chance to land Gausman or Jacoby Jones before the draft so in a way this hasn't worked out too poorly for us

We're getting a lot of talent still. But our pitching staff without Lee is the difference between an Omaha team and a Regional team IMO.

Honestly, we fared better than I thought. You can't get into all of the hype, which I am guilty of as well. We did not lose gausman, who I thought would be a goner. I figured lee, deshields, ar, bedrock and cecchini were gone for sure. I think we did not do bad considering. Not saying I am happy, but we will have to go thru this every year. You can say what you want, but that is the way it is, just like NSD.

I agree. And he could have been picked higher. Having Eades is huge too. I remember when he committed over 2 years ago a lot of people wrote him off as going pro and didn't get too excited about him

Now that the smoke has cleared and we know who is going and who is staying. Do we have a list of recruits who are actually going to be on the roster for 2011?

having 6 drafted players reporting is still really good, 4 of them pitchers. We should have a top 10 recruiting class once the dust settles

something about this statement doesnt sit right with me, coming of the national championship we should easily nail down a top 5 class without question IMO

although we seemed a bit unlucky, not sure we were any more unlucky with the draft picks this year as in years past....?

Damn! One pick later and a taxi cab ride across town makes over a $4,000,000 difference!?! Wow!

Thanks...good to see we have 4 new pitchers coming in since we've lost so many via draft/injury/transfer.

any speculation on why 5.25? i thought 4 was Zach's asking price all along. I think the dodgers tried to come in late and offer 4, Zach was set on coming to LSU and told them to GTFO, so the dodgers give him an offer he couldnt refuse.

either way, i hope that whore milks frank mccourt for every dime!!!

I wish this didn't happen every year, just like last year they banked on Von Rosenberg carrying AR's slack on the pitching staff, now this year we get screwed for baseball and football
