How about a prediction? What will the SEC standings be in May? Will LSU be a National Seed?

I'll give a little prediction...this may be waaaayyy off in May. The SEC West race is going to be much tighter of a race. (The wins/loses aren't going to add up so don't try to count)

SEC East
1.Florida (21-9)
2.Vanderbilt (20-10)
3.South Carolina (16-14)
4.Georgia (14-16)
5.Kentucky (12-17)
6.Tenessee (9-21)

SEC West
1.LSU (17-13)
2.Auburn (17-13)
3.Alabama (16-14)
4.Ole Miss (14-16)
5.Arkansas (14-16)
6.Mississippi St. (11-19)

The three SEC freshmen to watch
Karsten Whitson RHP Florida
Kevin Gausman RHP LSU
Ryne Stanek RHP Arkansas

LSU hosts a regional, but travels for a super.

Considering all the new faces, I'd take that. Of course, if a few of the new guys meet or exceed expectations, who knows?

Adam, did you see the article today where coach PM thinks our relief pitching is better than our starters?

You don't believe Watkins will be a prospect? I could be wrong but wasn't he drafted out of Eunice?

I don't think he's going to be a top 20 rounder this season or next. With that being said Trey's a great great baseball player and will do amazing things this season. I just don't get the feel a team is going to risk an early pick in selecting Trey based on his measurables alone. He's got remarkable speed, but his arm and hitting are average at best up to this point in his career added to the fact that he's already filled out at 5'8 190. Don't see him ever getting over 200lbs. If he has an explosive year however... well certaintly a team will take him maybe rounds (10-25) as a project.

Hope this answers your question better.

Edit: He's never been drafted

Thanks. I know he is small and won't grow much more but didn't know his value in a David ekstein (sp) type role. Maybe making a move to second base at the next level. Here's to him being a spark plug at the top of the lineup and a terror for opposing teams on the basepaths.

He is a senior. He was an early signee with Southeastern last November. Where did you see them play last year?

Adam, are there any more kids in the EBRP area that LSU is recruiting for the 2012 season?

Maybe one of two late bloomers that have stellar senior seasons. For the most part though the seniors have already committed to their schools in the early signing period. (November)

I think he played ok in that game. He was the catcher and I think he pitched in that game I am not sure if he started or he closed. Let me know if you get to see one of their games this year. I would enjoy reading your evaluation. He is very excited about SLU in the fall
