Offensive Predictability

Do the coaches not care that they are predictable? Do they not realize the advantages they have by taking advantage of 9 man fronts by passing and going uptempo to catch teams off balance?
You can play against 12 year old kids on Madden who know to throw against 9 in the box and uptempo the offense so the D gets caught off guard and cannot substitute.

This is new information that hasn't been posted before. I'll call les and let him know.

8 and 9 man fronts is why Fournette is busting 80-yarders fwiw

Honestly, Fournette would have had close to 350 without penalties so I can't see the argument. We needed to drop the play action bs against the blitz though. We could have run some draws there or hit some short slants.

Shh don't ruin their meme about offensive predictability even though LSU has been more diverse this year than last year in looks and sets.

LF7. That's all that has to be said. I don't think you quite realize yet just how good this kid is.

Its predictable, and it still works. We are awesome.

Obviously they don't. This is Les Miles football.
It has worked so far but if we ever face a team than can hold LF in check, it really looks like we have no plan B.
Main reason why I still don't think this is a championship team.

Being predictable with this Great OL and Great TB is fine for now, but unless we start using the play action pass and TE's and spread formations to get 8 guys out the box, when we get to Ole Miss and Bama there will be a lot of people singing a different tune.

We do what we need to do to secure victory.

Are you new to Les Miles teams? This has been the philosophy since he was here with games sprinkled in he'll throw a few surprises in. LSU's philosophy is line up and attack you. They're not fancy at how they do it and the concept is very simplified. It's a "I'm not trying to fool anyone...everyone here might know what I'm about to do so stop it". That's the type of mentality our offense is under Miles. Most teams know what's coming and still can't stop it.

Predictability is not only about run vs pass, it also includes blocking schemes, use of personnel and formations.

Let me guess: this is how you became an X-Box legend?

A lot more goes on than the average rantard realizes or understands.

You mean like we spread the field against Auburn? We didn't use the 2 te sets as much that week. We threw to the Te a few times also.
Obviously we didn't need to do too much against Cuse so we didn't.
Miles has shown over the years that he doesn't do more than he has to until he has to.
