This what Saban said.

quote:

"It was very good. The last run after we fumbled the ball and Leonard (Fournette) ran down to the 5, we didn't read run/pass in the secondary, so we had no run support when the ball bounced outside, and we were really in a good defense for it. But I was really, really pleased — I always get a good feeling in a game when (the other team) runs that first zone extra and they don't get anything. That's when the nose (guard) flatheads the center, and the five-technique knocks the guy back and the linebacker fills.

I dont know why anyone at LSU was expecting to dominate them.
Who said anything about dominating them? I don't think many reasonable people expected that prior to the game. However, that is not the same as being totally dominated by them. See the difference?

Oline was beat but it was CLM and Cam's fault. Bama's players knew what we were going to to as soon as we lined up. We ran 3 or 4 different formations so Bama had nothing to guess. Conversely Saban and Kiffin ran about 20 different formations and kept our defense off balance all night.

Clueless.

Well...Grime's guys just got abused. No one will mistake them for the best OL in the nation anymore. Frankly, I was more disgusted and surprised by their play than any other position group, although the KOR team gave them a run for the money albeit with much less expectations.

Best post I've read all day.

State will exploit their weaknesses and not constantly run into a wall

I swear, it almost seems like Saban sandbags some games

The best front 7 in college football played to stop the run because they knew that's all they had to do.

This and more this. I am so frustrated with our limited play calling or whatever the *@# it is.
You have to have the ability to make adjustments- I don't see much of that.

I knew it was gonna be difficult to run on Bama but it wasn't even competitive, we looked like a HS team. I dont get how we could have been so bad. Are we really that bad?

All of this. This was reminiscent of the National Championship game where we couldn't even get across midfield on Bama. It's almost like they knew what play was coming. ( I know, I know!)

How could Ole Miss beat and hang over 40 on the team we played last night?

OM was the recipient of 5 Bama turnovers, have a more dynamic QB and a coach who will dial up whatever type of offensive schemes he believes his team needs to win a game, and was the recipient of a freak TD with a pass going off one OM receiver to another in full stride which had a huge impact in that game. Bama still almost overcame 5 TO's to come back and win. UT has Hurd and Dobbs, who is a much more physical QB than Harris. He is not Cam Newton, but has serious size and speed. What else do you need to know? That Bama was highly motivated due to LSU sitting above them in the rankings and needing a win to accomplish their goals?

I can't explain the patheticness of LSU's offense last night. The terrible field position early in the game didn't help, but it was like after the first series they just threw up their hands and said "Bama gonna beat our asses due to this game plan."
