Do we have any QB's that are becoming an NFL best?

There are lots of NFL players that have become stars or are on their way to doing so. Miles get all the criticism and non of the praise. Those early losses the past 3 years were devastating to this program, yet we still compete with the best in the country. How many of Sabah's players have translated to the next level? I can't blame these kids for taking a paycheck. I don't know anything we can do reverse this trend, but it would be nice if winning a championship was important to just a few who are departing.

obviously leaving early was a no-brainer for OBJ, Landry, & Hill relative to our QB situation. OBJ likely would not have been a first rounder next draft if he was here this year.

That's the best criticism you have? The thing that doesn't affect the college level?

I think that's a fair criticism, we bring in talent, we develop it, but its up to the players to have a little pride for their university, and coaches who have gotten them to this level, to give an extra year and play for championships. The number of players we have put in the league compared to Saban over the past 2 years is substantial. Twice as many, do you think Sabah could do any better given those circumstances? It rests squarely on the players shoulders. I get it most of these kids come from very poor families, its the times we live in self sacrifice is rarity these days. We have become a country of "gotta get mine" and I think we have recruited a large number of athletes with just that attitude. Maybe we should recruit players who will be more committed the university, or either get used to 2nd place.

so if you went to college 3 years and were talented enough to be offered 6 figure income prior to graduation would you stay and get your diploma and turn it down? i think not. i wish they would stay for a 4th year, but it's too risky injury wise, etc. never mind that if OBJ were here this year he might have not even 500 yards receiving right now on the year.

Don't really care for Sherman, but:

"#Seahawks CB Richard Sherman and #NYGiants WR Odell Beckham Jr. exchanged jerseys after the game. #Respect"

just stfu! he barely got picked in the first round after a 1000 yd year with mett. there's no way he would've been if jennings were the starting qb last year and he had half of those yards. its not a knock on OBJ. we all know he's talented and it's showing in the nfl right now like the thread title says. its just like josh reed leaving when he was a junior in a transition year at qb going from davey to mauck. both's draft stock wouldn't have been as high if they stayed for their senior season.

he easily could of been a 2nd or 3rd rounder without the great season he had last yr

dont see any chance in hell he could of done that again this yr with jennings at qb

Well, given the new decision to let the Big 5 conferences govern theirselves ( with the exception of transfers and years of eligibility) the landscape of college football is going to change forever. I think you should be made to sign a 4 year contract, and in doing so scholarships should be honored for the entirety of that duration, provided there are no rule infractions. As it stands scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis. College football is going to move away from anything that is collegiant, and will officially become semi-pro, if there is a breech of contract the player should have to repay the year lost once they have entered the NFL. Go ahead call me an idiot, but that is the direction we are moving in. Once we start paying players, we can hold them under contract. That is the pay off for wanting to be paid. The notion of student athlete will be gone, and players will be held to different standard. I think the majority will come to regret the decision to be paid, because the universities will own these kids.
