look at the whole picture

Like a once elite program lead by Miles that is on a trajectory down the last 4 years? The team is getting worse and right now, they can still recruit elite talent. A change is required to right the ship before it's too late.

I'm thankful for all Miles has done, but it's better to make a move a year or 2 too early than a year or 2 too late.

We were 13-0 in 2011 and then lost in the Nat'l Championship game. We were 22 points from the apogee of college football...
There really isn't anywhere else to go but down from there. I'm not happy with this season or last season, and I also think it may be time for Les to retire, but you people who try to make it sound like he's been a consistent loser and is driving the program into the ground are imbeciles.
God help the next poor fricker who takes the head coaching job at LSU. He could go 15-0, win the NC, and some of you pricks would be whining that we didn't win by enough and the D didn't shut out every opponent. And if we won every game by 77-0 (because field goals are unacceptable), you'd bitch about the crowd being too small (or too large), traffic, ticket prices, lines at the concession stands, nasty bathrooms, the band, the Golden Girls, the weather, or God knows what else. Some of y'all are some seriously miserable bastards. What do you bitch about in the offseason?

define "officially."

Announcement/Notice -- I'll be ballsy and go under. I think Tuesday.
Officially as in no longer HC, over - December 31, 2015.

(I'm just gambling here, no info.)

I've heard his buyout drops by ~$3 million after 12/31/15. So I think you're making a good bet.
