Its not that the rest of us dislike Orgeron. It's the fact that unless he has AMAZING coordinators, we will be screwed for years... We lose Aranda? We're screwed. No "homerun OC hire"? We're screwed. That's a pretty sickening feeling, no?

He's a great cheerleader, but I've seen NOTHING that leads me to believe that he should have complete control over what should be a national powerhouse, year in and year out.

Agreed. I thought we would get a proven offensive minded coach. We didn't get either

What are your credentials that would make me give a shite what you have seen?

TIA

Aranda isn't the only DC out there. If he leaves they will be fine. It's not like O doesn't know defense, especially now that he has seen Aranda work for a year.

After Herman fails at Texas maybe we can get him as OC

We were screwed with Miles. And he was an offensive minded coach. A Fred Flintstone offense. Every head coach has to be a CEO. You have to run the organization. Saban has a DC.

I am not an O pumper, but I don't think O was a bad choice. Here's why:

1. While Coach O isn't interim anymore, his low salary and lack of a significant buyout means that we can essentially replace him at anytime. If Coach O does well, great. If he doesn't, he can easily be replaced.

2. Recruiting should stay top notch under coach O. If he falters, the next coach will have a full cupboard.

3. Our first choice (JF) was greedy. By walking away we temper the expectations from him if we have to do this again in coming years.

4. The one coach we all don't want to lose is Aranda, but we know in 2-3 years he'll be looking for a HC position. The only way to keep him is if we can offer him a HC job. We can't do that now because he's only been with the program a year and he has no HC experience. He needs a couple more years for everyone to get comfortable with his system. If Coach O falters and is canned mid-season in 2 to 3 years, then Aranda is likely made interim HC. If this audition goes well, he could be our next HC. This is what I'd really like to see.

So to me it looks like a win-win. Either Coach O succeeds (short-term win) or Coach O fails and Aranda is our next HC (long-term win).

It is a done deal. We know a lot of fans do not like the choice. But you really need to shut up.
There is active recruiting going on and you're comments are not helping.

How is this scenario any worse than it was under Les Miles?

It's not like the whole program is broken. At least Coach O understands that there's a problem with the offense and is going to do something to try to fix it.

You don't have to give a shite abt what I've seen. You're one of those jackasses that's cool with mediocrity. Enjoy that shite. I won't.

This is exactly why Nick Saban doesn't have assistant coaches. He does ALL of it on his own.

I have read a ton of hate for the guy and anyone south of Hwy 90

frick those people

That said Jimbo has alternate coordinators ever 2-3 years since he has been in charge.

Fired Miles because of bad offense and QB play. LSU has the defense figured out. LSU needed a offensive minded head coach. Not the defensive line coach running the team.

If u are a QB recruit in high school, do you want to play for a former offensive coordinator head coach(Herman/Fisher) or a defensive line coach?

My point is that we should not have made a hire equal to or less than Les Miles. I mean, what's the point in firing him in the first place????
