Sorry for my first post. I was not sure how to delete, so I had to edit it all. It was mostly copied and pasted and said something that would have had major implications.

Coach O worked hard over last 2 months to sell current players, former players, coaches, and media (local and national). Enough can't be said about Ponamsky.

With that being said, this opportunity means more to O than any of us can ever imagine. You don't take this kind of thing lightly- this is what they make movies out of. I wasn't an O guy in the beginning, but he won me over because I've never seen a guy more prepared for the interview process. Unlike Jimbo or Herman that felt the deserved the job.

If by masterful salesman you mean snake oil salesman, then yes, he is a masterful salesman.
He sold Alleva some ocean front property in Arizona, and Alleva bought it hook, line, and sinker.

I love the effort and how much he is invested.. I just worry about a top tier program backsliding because we gave a guy a second chance he didn't deserve

next pitch is to get a good offensive mind. be aggressive to get the guy, i would go out and pursue lane kiffin and wouldnt stop til i get a yes or a no answer from kiffin to be offensive coordinator at lsu, next choice would be to go after tee martin an offensive coordinator at usc or major apple white an offensive coordinator at univ of houston. or possibly tyson helton of western kentucky and joe moorhead

Yes, I say let's be fair and see how things go, not judging Coach O too quickly.

Anthony "Booger" McFarland, former LSU All-American, now a commentator, is known for telling it like it is and he has not hesitated to criticize LSU when needed.

Saturday night, he made a significant comment, stating Coach O really wanted to be here (LSU), while Fisher and Herman did not. LSU basically had to plead its case to both of them.

Those are good names, though it would not surprise me if Applewhite follows Herman to Texas.

In his place, I would add to at least consider Steve Sarkisian. Coach O has probably worked with him before, as I believe both were on the USC staff at the same time.

That's because they both had other suitors.

If you're worth hiring the schools come crawling to you. If you don't have to plead your case it's because your candidate has no leverage.
