I hate hearing people like Jacob Hester complain about him potentially losing a redshirt. LSU hasn’t had a qb sign and finish his career here since JJ. Nuss isn’t staying around until 2025.

This kid has an opportunity to have 15 bowl practice and develop major chemistry with a freshman wr core and put himself in the drivers seat as QB1 next year. It’s also a chance to help his TEAM win a football game and not have a losing record.

Him playing or sitting will be all I need to know about him.

If he does or doesn’t play, it won’t be only his decision. I think it’s pretty much a guarantee he plays

exactly. If he passes on this I’d just assume he’ll never play.

I agree that the practices would be important for him. Even if there's going to be a new OC. It gives the guys around him a chance to see him in a leadership. It also gives Kelly a chance to see how coachable he is. I just don't get it, UNLESS he is saying he wants to keep his redshirt.

No way he doesn't play unless he is getting really bad advice...

Nuss needs this bowl game win more than you can imagine. He doesn't have much tape on him and he has the chance to win Kelly over for next season.

As of right now, Nuss has a completion rate of 51% with 2 TD's and 2 INT's. That isnt great. I'd love for him to walk in and throw 4 TD's and 500 yards to make things interesting for Howard.

He’s playing 100%

Max transferring kind of makes the redshirt less important

I doubt we start walker as a freshman if nuss is any good so he needs to play.
Although cj stroud showed what a frosh could do.

Nuss will get reps in practice either way but I’m sure he plays

Easy for you to say with no skin in the game.

That’s the point. If Howard is as good as everyone says then Nuss is a coin flip to even be here much longer. That extra year would be very valuable to him if he finds himself elsewhere. The TEAM will replace him without a second thought if a better player comes along, just the nature of the business and there’s nothing wrong with considering that.

yeah its really stupid

if you aren't willing to burn his RS and instead going to play Kirkland at QB then you're telling the team you don't care about the game. Why should they then?

The kid is being put in a terrible situation
If he wants to redshirt that's his choice
I would want to show the coaching staff I can be the guy
I won't blame him either way
He has to look out for himself
If he doesn't want to play, no since giving him any bowl game #1 reps
Max could have at least finished it out in bowl game

If you follow his tiktok, someone commented on one of his videos that he should hit the transfer portal and he liked the comment. The only comment out of a bunch that he liked..

Not trying to be debbie downer here, but it made me nervous that he might be leaving as well.

I'd love for him to have an offensive line and an offensive scheme that made that even remotely possible.

and take away reps from nuss? max isn't going to be at LSU in 2022 so it was the right move.

Why? You are either a team guy or a me guy. I’ve seen enough of the kids playing for LSU that are only worried about themselves.

Scott at Dandydon.com made a statement:

"I don’t know the backstory here, but it’s quite conceivable that Max could have seen his future playing time threatened by 5-star quarterback commit Walker Howard. Or maybe his initial conversations with new head coach Brian Kelly didn’t go as expected. Whatever the case may be, it leaves LSU in an interesting predicament for the upcoming bowl game against Kansas State on Jan. 4."

The narrative at this time next week

Man, Nussmeier with 4 weeks of bowl practice & a bowl game with the new staff is getting is going to be invaluable to him & his development!

Seriously, and I guess it’s hesters fault too, y’all have to stop being so emotional over this & think logically & with a little bit of foresight. Nussmeier isn’t going to frickin redshirt this is a great opportunity & Doug knows that more than anyone

He's the starter next next season and he will have a 5* freshman right on his heels. Burn the damn shirt. The only reason to redshift him was to stretch his eligibility under the assumption of Max being the long term starter.

If Howard beats him out as a junior, it won't matter if he transfers.
