Now that the dust has settled,

I am actually ok with this hire. I was not sold on Herman. Would have loved Jimbo but it just didn't work out. Hopefully O has these boys inspired next year.

I think it will work out well. With his lower salary, we have more money for coordinators. We just need to bump up Arandas salary to $2M, so he doesn't get poached. Throw another $2M at Lane Kiffin, and we have the best OC and DC in the nation.

I think O knows his role. He is going to be a CEO sort who motivates, organizes and puts out the message.
Aranda is the boss at D

Dare I say it... I don't like the man... He's a grade A c*nt ... But..... Maybe Lane as OC is a good thing. Proven track record in the SEC and he knows our biggest enemy inside out.
Saban would HATE this to happen.
I think that next year will be much improved - barring the Florida change - our slate is decent too. We are going to be in a good place at the half way point with a chance to develop talent.
Lets face it
We are good QB play away from being a top ranked team. We literally just need a B grade there and we are money.

Bama's talent levels aren't way ahead of LSU's.
I know the O line has been a shite heap, and that will improve.
Its the QB play that attracts me to his possible hire. He is getting serious results year on year when he is expected to struggle.

Bama's oline is ridiculous and their defense so eventually Kiffin looks good from several opportunities
