Notable games First:

1. Wisconsin-Away game. Vegas thinks we are nearly double digit favorites in this game. Our defense, LF and improved passing will make this a statement game like Oregon in 2011. LSU 35- Wisconsin 13

2. Mississippi State- First SEC game. Its at home and they no longer have Dak. Should get ugly... LSU 42 State 10

3. Auburn- First road SEC game. Auburn will be better than last year on offense but their defense should be the same or worse. Having home field makes the score closer than people may think. LSU 31-Auburn 21

4. Mizzou- First time playing them since joining the SEC. This will be a bloodbath. LSU 45 Mizzou 7

5. Florida- This will be a tough matchup. Florida lost a lot, however the game is in the swamp and they will have better QB play. LSU will also be much improved and it will be LSU's defense and QB play that wins it for the tigers. LSU 24 Florida 21

6. Ole Miss- We have a nice warmup game against Southern Miss before playing the Rebels. They will have no running game to speak of and their defense will take a step back. Our Passing D will pick off Kelly a couple times and our running game will be too much for them.
LSU 31 Ole Miss 21
7. Alabama- This is the year. Vegas has us as -3 favorites as of now. They will have a new starting QB again... but the difference this year will be no Henry to rely on. The defense will be phenomenal but not as good as last year. They will be much like they were in 2014 when we nearly beat them with Anthony Jennings. Our defense and QB play will be much better than that year
LSU 21 Alabama 17

8. Arkansas- Arkansas will not be as good as years past and does not have a quarterback. Vegas already has us as 5-6 point favorites and we ride our high off beating Bama. LSU 28 Arkansas 20

9. A&M- I am not sold on Trevor Knight however this game is in college station and their defense will be better. Expect a low scoring game. LSU 17- A&M 13

Bonus LSU vs Tenn in the SEC title
This will be a fantastic championship. LSU 31- Tenn 28

Position groups
QB: Improved
RB: Improved
WR: Improved

No. Harris outplayed Mettenberger in their respective years as first year starters. Mettenberger improved his second year....as do most QBS. Very easy to see why Harris will be better

I'm a little worried about the OLine. Lots of talent, but lots of moving parts. We have the potential to be much improved. But also the potential to underachieve.

LB: Improved

Losing Debo is big. Hopefully the 3-4 will mask it. We've got a lot of talent there, but overall the position isn't improved at this point. And certainly lacking in the depth department. If Devin White can make an immediate impact, I can see this being a very good group.

May take a bit for the D to gel. Those first two games will probably be closer.

I'm also curious if this O-Line will gel together properly.

Games to watch is is Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Bama unless some team is mysteriously sneaky good. Wisconsin is supposedly not all that talented this upcoming year however they have a new DC so we might not know what to expect going into that game. Ole Miss and Arkansas always play LSU hard regardless of their talent levels. Florida will be a good team and will be our first big challenge. Bama will be Bama and the deciding factor on who wins the west. Lose that game and it will spiral out of control again for us.

Not sure how you can list some position groups improved automatically like oline. That's actually a question mark with losing Hawkins and Alexander. LB improved? How? We'll be breaking in 2 new starters 1 of which will potentially be a freshman?

What? What the hell does this have to do with anything. If you did want to go down this road you could say that Harris had the best RB to ever play for LSU, more experienced receivers than FR Met, and a better o line. However, like I said that doesn't have anything to do with Brandon Harris at all.

How so? I also have some troubling news for you....last year was Harris' 2nd year at LSU so by your logic last year was his improvement year right? That my friend is scary.

We haven't put up 30+ at Auburn in 14 years. I don't expect that to happen next year even with Steele as their DC

Mett was a JR in 2012 when he became full time starter. His second year at LSU and third out of hs. He showed much improvement in 13, his second year starting and third year in program.

Harris was a SO in 15 his first year starting and second at LSU. His jump would be this coming year not last year.

So no, his logic isn't off your reading comprehension was off actually.
Their situations are almost identical.

First off mett was never a freshman here, his first year starting was in 2012 as a junior. That is the year the poster was comparing to Harris' 15.

Mett 2012:
Shepard: SR
Wright: Jr
Boone: Jr
Beckam: SO
Landry: SO

Harris 2015:
Dural: JR
Diarse: JR
Dupre: SO
Quinn: SO
Johnson: FR

So no, again. Which one would you choose?

Mett 2012 online: Collins and turner are starting in the NFL right now.
Harris 2015: too early to tell how good any of these guys truly were/are yet.

quote:

Harris had the best RB to ever play for LSU

Jeremy hill, Michael ford, Alfred blue, spencer ware, Hilliard, Magee were a pretty solid stable of backs for mett in 12 too btw. 3 of those guys had starts and great stats in the NFL this year. 1900 yards and 19 TDs between hill/blue/ware this past NFL season.

Fournette > Hill
Ware/Blue/Ford > Guice(FR)/Williams

Let's not act like mett had any worries about handing the ball off. Hilliard and Magee were in that backfield too

Again none of that long winded BS matters to this conversation.

I fail to see how anything Mett did correlates to anything Harris has done or will do.

It is simply a dumb argument to make....my argument in return was simply meant to illustrate and ram home that point....I think it did pretty well.
