Tell that to the NCAA tourney selection committee. This team ain't hosting a super at this rate. Trending towards not hosting a regional if we can't even beat mediocre in state competition

It's not good. Win 2 out of 3 this weekend and you are fine. But they don need to figure this out. The three freshman need to split up in the lineup. Smith is fine. Slaughter needs to stop swinging for the fences every pitch. Watson should be your 9 hole.

I've actally been to a few Tulane games this year and can vouch that they are terrible.

This is an embarrassing loss.

SEC record may get us a Regional, but these games will eliminate us from a Natl Seed.

No matter how we spin it, recruiting will suffer the more you lose to instate schools IF they are not able to make a push late.

Mid week game or not, I put stock in the fact that we can't even hit bad pitching.

Weren't we saying that last year after losing to Tulane? If this team wins the SEC it will host a super regional regardless of the midweek record. Hitting wasn't as bad as it seemed tonight. Had a lot of line drives straight at fielders. I felt like they swung the bats better just couldn't find open space when needed. Beck impressed again. Pap had really good ABs. I'd rather them struggle offensively right now than in May/June. I think they'll put it together.

You think we are going to lose in state recuits to the likes of Tulane, southeastern, ULL because we are losing some midweek games. That isn't going to happen.

This.

The list is way too long filled with talented kids that will give their right arm to play baseball at LSU

Seems like every season, this program struggles early in the conference or loses midweek games like this.

17-9 record right now. You have no quality victories except winning one game at Florida and beating Baylor.

Mainieri needs to find some answers quickly. This is embarrassing and underachieving with Lange and Poche . Next year, Mainieri will be making excuses.

Hopefully learning how to either hit or layoff a curve ball. Maybe even learning to CATCH a ball behind the plate.

I think it's the 2 and Qs in Omaha that did Smoke in--not losing midweek games.
