Perhaps this is what was needed... JJ has had Tigers pitchers on a quick hook all season... perhaps they need to be allowed the opportunity to work through some pressure situations before the hook comes out???

Game one, didn’t want to use up pitches like UGA was doing, so JJ decide to ride and die with Hurd to eat up innings…

UGA went all out last night to win that one with the arms they used…

I don’t disagree. But last night was due to circumstance. He couldn’t pitch the whole staff on game 1. He was gonna win or lose just using up Hurd.

Maybe so. But this place would have imploded if he stayed in and lost the game.

Hurd had a rough 9th inning, giving up two monster HRs and a scary long fly ball to Crews. But to JJ's credit he didn't kneejerk and pull him for Dutton, Money or *gasp* Little.

I guess JJ saw what happened last wknd, and was determined to set things right this time

I think it’s hard to overstate how excruciating of a game that must have been for JJ to coach and how perfectly he called it.

Sending Paul back out. Riding TH after the HRs. All the subs. Just solid shite under brutal circumstances

Again it just further proves the point that if the pitcher is filling up the zone he is not going to get benched for giving up 2 big hits. But if you cannot find the strike zone and keep walking guys thats when the quick hook happens. Fill up the zone and you will have a longer leash because you're going to get more outs than not.

Two monster HR's on a softball field. Neither were no doubters. The 1st one would have been maybe warning track at the Box.

He didn’t waste any time pulling big nasty. Hurd is a starter but did a great job outside of those 2 pitches. Javon labored early last start. I think he will be better coming out of the pen.
