Very long story short, any rational observer can see that there is little reason to be excited over having to replace Les Miles

bullshite. Everybody knows the reason Sean Payton hasn't resigned with the Saints is because Jerry Jones told him he was going to give Arky a bunch of money to hire Miles so SP could coach LSU.

Accounting for the Penn State forfeit, LSU has a .817 W% under Miles.

why even put that non truth there

I put the winning percentage with the loss first? .810 or .817, what is the big deal?

Still doesn't mean he deserves a raise...

I don't think he deserves a raise without cause, but if a little more money is what it takes to keep him here or else we lose him to Arkansas, then I think it is worth it.

They won't match, but they will raise it to at most 4.5 I'de assume

Those are some big time ("can't ever be down type programs") programs that went into the shitter. Some are still there. Great post.

great post. i have to add USC. they "wandered in the wilderness" from the time jim mccay left for tampa (1980ish) to the time pete carrol arrived about 25 yrs later. hell, notre dame has been a footnote for over a decade and has been thru several coaches before finding kelly. THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC WINNING HIRE. thanks for this post; i'm sure many of the video football guys will blast you but it certainly puts things in perspective for the more mature and reasonable fan segment.

Ah great, another fearful diatribe about how LSU can never replace Miles and is destined to fail once he leaves.
