But how many people would rather another coach than Les Miles regardless of how well this season is going?

It's hard to imagine Les Miles leaving LSU anytime soon, it is also hard to imagine him signing a contract to be a head coach in the NFL but that's about the only place he would consider if he were indeed to leave.

So Les Miles or the like? Discuss

Les needs to be at LSU when he is an old man like Paterno

If it's an upgrade.. why not?

There are 4-5 coaches I would take at LSU in a heartbeat.

I'm very satisfied with the hand we've been dealt. Coaching changes are a crapshoot at best. There's no guarantee you'll get your first, second or third choice. That should be abundantly clear from last year's coaching carousel. And there's no guarantee a successful coach will duplicate his record at a new school. If you think LSU can do better, be very, very careful what you wish for.

Cant disregard how this season is going. How seasons go is how you decide whether or not one likes/dislikes the coach. But I say keep Leslie

There are currently no coaches I would consider an "upgrade". I love his rapport with players and recruits and wouldn't trade for anyone

I would not trade Les for any coach. I think he is a very good coach. Seems like he is an even better man. Makes me proud to be a Tiger fan.

Hard to say you would rather have another coach when you look at the team he has put together this year. Add in the fact next year looks even better and i will take miles and not think twice.

Miles is the coach I want at LSU. I guarantee that if/when Miles leaves, we will experience the cliche' - Don't know what you got until it's gone.

There are some people on this board who would still prefer to have Miles gone...they will be silent for now...but are waiting for the moment to pounce.

There are a large number of people on this board who will turn on Miles in a heartbeat the second we lose a game. They aren't necessarily waiting for it to happen...but they are the fairweather fans who do not realize how tough it is to win championships and thus, overreact when we don't. They truly love him as of today though.

The smart people on the board have known for a while that Miles is a good coach who is doing a great job running the program. They realize that while there may be a handful of guys better, LSU brings enough to the table on its own to win at the highest level with Miles. Should LSU lose, they will not overreact...and instead will be the faint voice of reason amid the loud chorus of bashing.

I have posted 53 times over the last 3 or so years and at least 50 of them have been taking up for Miles when it seemed everyone wanted to ride him out of town on a rail! Boy it sure has been nice not to have to deal with that this year. Guess that happens when you win by more than a few points. What you see with Les is what you get, and what you get is the best coach that has ever coached at LSU. Hope he stays at least 5 more years.
