From Wikipedia:

In 2000, the Tigers went 8–4 and won the Peach Bowl. The season was somewhat marred by several lopsided losses, including a 34–17 loss to the Auburn Tigers, a 13–10 loss to the UAB Blazers, and a 41–9 loss to the Florida Gators.

And there we have it. O is going to be as great as Saban. Nevermind his past record as HC.

You guys think you're helping Orgeron's case but you're just making his supporters look ridiculous.

He also upset a ranked Tennessee team, beat Alabama at home for the first time in like 100 years and won a bowl game.

He followed that up by winning the SEC and the Sugar Bowl the next season. We'll see how O does after two seasons.

Further explain.. Because while i admit the talent level is better now, lets not pretend Ed came into a "full cupboard" scenario. He has a handful of mediocre OL and some depth/ injury issues with key players on the DL..

Obviously, it doesnt make up for the lack of enthusiasm during games, lack of discipline and penalties, but dont act like we STAAACKKKKD with talent on our lines.

Compared to the state of the program when Saban got here, yes he did.

What was Nicks head coaching record before coming to LSU and what was Ed's?

Besides, LSU was an entirely different program when Saban took over.

To think the situations are comparable has no basis in reality.

Yeah but the Bama game and UT game where completely unexpected and we shouldn't have won. Let's let this season play out before we compare it to "Just in the NICK of Time" season.

Saban had his previous team in the top 5 at one point. Please stop with these ridiculous comparisons.

He's not trying to say that O will be as good as saban. Just stating that just because we had one bad loss in his first year doesnt mean that the program is screwed.

Saban was a proven head coach and a known commodity in the coaching world. I still remember watching a Michigan State bowl game and they were discussing Saban's departure.(Bobby Williams was filling in as head coach). I dont think ill ever forget Musberger saying "Get ready Tiger fans because Nick Saban can flat out coach".
As opposed to Palmer during the BYU game -when asked to compare O at Ole Miss & LSU: "He knows who he is and who he isn't. "

Saban was like 44-26-1 when we hired him.

Not great, but not bad.

He was also 1-3 in bowl games.

These might not be 100% correct. In trying to work and scan wikipedia at the same time.

Should be close enough though.
