Just tuned in to Monday Night Football and the first words I heard were “Devin White”. Same thing Sunday. Put on the Cowboys game and the first thing I heard was “Damone Clark”. Been appreciating more and more that you can’t watch NFL football without hearing a Tiger’s named called. And it’s not just the Burrows, Chases and Jefferson’s of the world. We’ve got impact players on almost every team in the league. I remember when it used to be news that a guy was catching on on the practice squad.

Damn it feels good to be a Tiger.

Clearly I want that too. But let’s think about the big picture. Something else I’ve noticed is when people talk about blue bloods more and more you hear LSU mentioned. We’ve long known we deserved that (e.g. were the only team besides Bama with more than 2 championships in the last 20 years) but other folks didn’t get recognize it. Now you have three LSU guys named in the top 5 NFL players pre season.

As we move into the world of the expanded playoff, you have to appreciate the value a blue blood label gets you. How many times has Bama gotten the benefit of the doubt just because?

This isn’t just a feather in the cap.
