Was watching the Wash/ Dallas game and they had stopped play in the 4th because the refs thought there was field goal going to be attempted. The announcers said they had to bring in the kicking football. This is the first time I've heard of this. What's the difference in footballs and why?...TIA

They have kicking balls so the kickers can no longer "doctor" them. I heard before the rule was implemented kickers use to do all kinds of shite to the football, like microwaving them.

A kicking ball is a brand new ball as well.

If not some guys would use a 20 year old ball that looks like a balloon
