Do people complaining about Greedy sitting out the bowl game realize how much money he would be risking to play in the game?

5th overall pick gets about $18 million GUARANTEED money. Falling even to the 10th overall pick already cuts that amount in half.

Posting from my phone but has anybody posted a pic of the nfl draft pick pay slots? Surely if logical fans saw the true amount of money these guys would be risking to a play UCF in the fiesta bowl, they would understand right? How could anybody be upset about a guy trying to protect so much money?

I’m beginning to think posters here either grew up extremely privileged and can’t fathom the financial need of the majority of players or they’re just too dumb to understand

Because they've never had to make such an easy decision with even 1% of that money on the line in their life.

They believe they're owed something from Greedy. Nevermind the fact that the people who actually are owed something have no problem with the decision.

The people complaining don’t care at all about the financial implications. They are fanatics thinking emotionally instead of rationally.

I also love the stupid argument “oh he will just make up the money with his next contract”. As if it’s just guaranteed your nfl career will be great.

what's the difference if he would get hurt the first game of the season or the bowl game?

Sitting out the whole season would have hurt his stock. Sitting out one bowl game at the end of the year doesnt. It’s not complicated.

That's why he and his family should have looked into an insurance policy worth $10 million. To prevent this, the big time universities need to put pressure on the NCAA to somehow provide these policies for a cheap rate so these guys don't do this.

Well there's two sides to it. That's what makes the topic so polarizing. I haven't really taken a position, but in general, the LSU fan in me hates seeing players sit out. But if you try to put yourself in the shoes of the decision makers, you can understand why they do it. We just need to be thankful that those stars played and prospered at LSU and wish them luck at the next level. Complaining about it won't change anything.
