We are 0-2 when we don’t feature Harold Perkins.

End meeting.

Kelly said in the presser that because UT throws a ton they were in nickel or dime coverage and Perkins position is not in on that set up. He would've had to play middle LB and he hasn't practiced that. I would've still tried him a series at MB anyway but that's just me.

Right. The freshman linebacker would have single handedly helped us win that game even though we couldn’t score and couldn’t stop them from scoring and couldn’t play special teams. You people are so fricking dumb.

Nothing we could do, the other team forced our hand.

Surely no other teams will take note of this and spread us out more

"Analytics" is when he trots the offense out as well when winning the toss. Says it is "proven" to give you an advantage. Coach, This is just not the case with this team. How many points have we scored on opening drives this year?

So if that is all it takes to keep our most dynamic defender off the field, why would all our competition going forward do the very same thing. It obviously worked and produced a lot of points. I guess it is too much to expect our defensive coaches to get creative to counteract that offensive approach. that is why I believe Fla will do the same as Tenn and probably beat us by a similar score.

He did force a holding flag on one of his few plays on the field.

Nobody said he would've single handedly won the game. However, its the coaches job to get their best players/athletes on the field. Tenn wasn't running a super complicated offense. It's actually about as complicated as Miss St. His speed and athleticism was dearly missed against Tenn. He should've at least played a few downs in situational football.

It kills me how ridiculous some of you are. No one else on our schedule plays with every WR hugging the sideline and none of them are going to change something that significant for an entire game to affect one player. frick.

I’m not saying I fully agree with how the staff handled Perkins, but the way some of you are reacting to it just shows how ignorant and unhinged this fanbase is.

They ran twice as much as they passed yet we never adjusted and put him in. And, I agree with you. Even if they prepared for a pass heavy UT, why would you not find a way to get 40 out there?

Think. It’s EXTREMELY rare for a freshman to play a lot of snaps at MLB because they have to direct the middle of the defense. Beckwith is one of the few who started and played a ton of snaps there, and it was mid season before he took over. Also, the way UT plays doesn’t allow for a lot of subs, so whoever goes in has to plan to play the entire drive.

A legitimate complaint is why didn’t they get out of nickel later in the game when UT was running a lot and play Perkins in his typical role? They also said they were using him to spell BJ at rush end. Why didn’t he get more series there, especially in the 2nd half? This is where the staff really missed it.
