Inside zone split. A damn good play and hard to stop when playing a mobile offensive line and a back with patience and one cutting ability (Guice)

Also this bad boy can be ran from any ace or shotgun. It usually leaves a cutback on the weakside and a tackler with a 1 on 1 matchup with a lot of open space.

Example

The Tight end / HBack is JD Moore or Mouton

Good morning guys ! Geaux Tigers . Just a little coffee for your morning.

How often did we go zone last season? Isn't it a pretty difficult transition?

So...what your saying is, we will run plays that take advantage of of our athleticism and improve our chances of advancing the ball instead of just crashing straight ahead into a wall of 8 or 9 guys who already know the play?

I duuno man sounds scary.

I love zone runs. If Canada utilizes them more and packages them in all forms and shapes it'll add a completely different element from what we've seen in the past.

That play is easy. If our guys can't get something like that down then we're screwed.

My nephew is GA'ing with LSU this year and we were talking about the kind of changes we should expect. He said it's a very similar style to the Malzhan's and Chip Kelly's of the world in that Canada can run the same play 10 times in a row and the motion and pre-snap adjustments won't ever look the same. It's designed to keep the defense's feet moving pre-snap to let the QB see what's going on over there and to also use misdirection. It's not re-inventing the offensive wheel it's just re-inventing the LSU offensive wheel. The players are beyond excited about it.

Its will be refreshing seeing our coaches mold the offense around our player's strengths.

There is nothing wrong with the toss dive. It lets your rb look for the hole quicker (gets the ball in his hands quicker)and it doesn't make your rb married to a certain spot when getting the ball like a hand off does.

If you look at the other plays they're talking about there's some good stuff in there

The problem with your argument here is that on a "dive" there is only one hole. Toss "Zone" would make more sense and actually be effective. But I digress, as I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam on this site.

Bingo!

THANK YOU! So tired of hearing the "gets the ball quicker" thing. Years of it here AND idiotic TV announcers.
NOBODY worth a crap ran it. NOBODY.

I'm sorry you're tired of hearing facts about the toss dive.
Whether you like it or not the toss dive was used to get the ball in the hands of the rb as fast as possible.

You clearly dont watch other sec teams because Arkansas and Georgia have run the toss dive.

This is your basic Power play but it’s done from my favorite aspect: the toss!

Countless LSU fans have cursed the “Toss Series” of plays LSU has uniquely installed over the years, but it’s by far my favorite run concept and nobody does it better. Actually, outside of Georgia and Arkansas, teams rarely do it all. But notice how quickly the ball gets back to him and provides him with a little bit more time to navigate the run opposed to your average run-of-the-mill hand off.

Not really much transition needed. Most teams (including LSU) already have some plays using zone blocking scheme and some using power scheme.

Power blocking: Oline lines up with knowing what player is their responsibility. Leaves play vulnerable when defenses shifts right before the snap confusing the oline.

Zone blocking: Oline lines up responsible for a gap. Still can look and see who they need to block pre play but if the defense shifts its much easier for the oline to decipher who is their responsibility.

My wife would disagree with you on how much football I watch - and thank you for proving my point for me...NOBODY worth a crap runs it.
