I wonder how many people realize Miles has a better record over the last (terrible)5 years than Saban did in his 5 at LSU.

Miles is a victim of his own success?

Les________ Saban
13-1_______ 8-4
10-3________ 10-3
10-3_________ 8-5
8-5_________ 13-1
9-3_________ 9-3

I think that to even suggest that he is a victim of anything is kind of silly and takes far too seriously the nonsense that runs rampant on this site.

We're all aware of those records. Next year 2011 will fall off that stat so you'll need to come up with something new.

I guess what I'm saying is Saban had one Good year by the new standards. every other year in today's world he would have been on the hot seat and that sounds ridiculous to say

Saban had to build it, Miles didn't.

So because he maintained a better record over any 5 years he is less successful?

They were not able to maintain it at Texas Tennessee Florida USC so apparently maintaining it is just as challenging

Yeap, tOSU hired Meyer so there wasn't much of a drop off.

Just depends on who LSU can get. People talk about how bad Les is, yet thats who LSU hired after winning a national championship.

If saban had stayed, Lsu would have won 3 straight titles 05, 06 & 07.

Lsu could have been bama before bama became bama but Lsu let saban geaux and settled for Les.

Ohhhh!! (Dice Clay)

C'mon man.

Do you really think those two sets had the same initial conditions?

When Saban started we only had 3 winning seasons over the previous 11 and hadn't won an SEC title since '88.

People would be happy with a 3 loss season if it beat Bama and won the SEC. So that's two good years fr Saban.

And yeah, I guess the standards are higher now.

2005 was going to be USC vs Texas regardless. LSU was my winning shite.

2006- the losses came due to refs (AU) and sloppy flukey offense (FL). I don't know if Saban would've been much different. 2006 still looked like a Saban team.

I'm not sure you recall what our program was like before Saban...
