New Rule

This could impact teams that play aggressive defense like LSU, more than others.

"The NCAA forced the issue this week by recommending a rule that will eject anyone who is flagged for targeting a defenseless player."

I feel like this kind of rule gives too much power. It is like the Brad Wing play. I don't like any rule that rely's on an opinion by a ref.

You mean defenders will be forced to tackle again?

Yes, very subjective as to what constitutes a “good hit” and what constitutes “targeting”

What happens if a quarterback is running downfield to tackle an interception and he gets lit up in a questionable hit, do they throw that flag and eject the player? Refs have enough trouble as it is without allowing them to royally screw up a game with this kind of call.

this is some stupid shite...a player should never be considered "defenseless"....if he can't manage to protect himself on the football field, he should find a sport that is more suited to his abilities...

Will never be called on Bama if it becomes a new rule.

Wonder which team will have the most opposing players thrown out? SEC refs will love this rule.

I could under stand after the second offense in one game. Or three in two games. However, ejection after one foul is a joke.

If it passes I predict LSU gets this called 15 times next year and Bama gets none.

Only way that should get called is if a players makes a verbal threat in the game before the hit.

If they want to protect WRs so much, limit the routes they can run. How about eliminating any slants or crossing patterns across the middle that result in many of vicious hits.

The refs suck at enforcing these rules as we have seen when they have penalized guys who never made contact but intended to.

Its rediculous. I'd rather go back to leather helmets. Rugby-no helmets. I'm sure that will reduce the concussions, yet allow player to play.

There may not be ejections during the Bama game unless Bama gets behind but watch when LSU plays the week before Bama then we get 2 or 3.

I'm surprised, Bama only mentioned 3 times so far... Wining before the rule even passes....

What a joke!!! This rule is a travesty, we can only hope this doesn't pass. The refs can't get the obvious calls right a great deal of the time. There will be way too much left to interpretation. We all know how that would work out.
