If it wasn't going to be Robertson, Freeman was my next choice for sure. Dont see the big deal here.

Why would it ruffle feathers? Maybe he's a really good team leader in the locker room. Always playing hard.

I thought for sure it would be Kramer or Deichmann. I'm just thankful that Freeman has the opportunity to wear it and will be back for another year

Not with me, I very much enjoyed Cole Freeman this past year! I would have given it to Lange if it were me... But other people might not take too kindly to it. A 1 year player compared to a 4 year senior who fought back from all kind of crap to lead the team in hitting. You're right though, maybe Kramer is not a good clubhouse leader. But I feel like he always played 100% and stuck through LSU after a bunch of crap went against him.

He also may have turned it down for all we know.

I can't recall the last time I saw an LSU pitcher wearing a single digit uniform number

ETA: Brandon Nall in '04-'05 season?

Are we counting Brennan Breaux? I know he's not here as a pitcher, but he did pitch this year, even if it was less than an inning.

Robertson has too many personalized with KR3 (bats, shoes, glove, twitter handle, etc). It would have been too much trouble to change all that.
