So we can't start Norman?

I wouldn't.

Mervyl Melendez is the coach there, used to be at Bethune Cookman when they were winning their conference every year and getting a couple guys drafted regularly. He basically just recruits the shite out of Puerto Rico and always ends up with a pretty decent team that can beat good teams if they don't take them seriously.

They aren't world beaters by any stretch, they're just not a team to sleep on.

Agreed.

They have Tennessee at home, an away midweek at Creighton, and an away series at Georgia.. IMO they can go 7-0 in that stretch.. with sweeping Alabama last week that's 10-0 to finish. Winning 8 straight SEC series.

I don't see them being paired across the #1 Overall seed finishing like that and close to hosting. Even if it's a Fayetteville Regional with Arkansas as the 2 seed as some projections have shown.

You don't want to see your favorite team at tBox?

I expected this by you.

No I would not like to see Arkansas at the Box. A few friends may come down to see the Super if that happens though. I'll be in Purple and Gold for sure, no worries.

They have solidified a few things since we faced them earlier this year. Spoon and Serrano have started to hit. Benintendi is still hitting like he has been. And McKinney has really settled into a starting role.

I think we can beat Tacolinni, McKinney is a toss up, Killean is a toss up.

That makes me nervous too. I'm glad we played them when we did, they've been on a roll lately.

LSU owns Arkansas in the post-season.

With so many SEC teams likely to advance to Supers it's going to happen every now and then. The Tigers just need to concentrate on winning their regional which they've failed to do in 2 of the past 3 tries. I like them over anyone in the SR at home.

Last year was the only time we didn't win the regional in the last 3 tournaments. Made it to Omaha the year before, and Stony Brook was a Super.

Me too, the A&M series was great preparation.

It's still way to early to take these seriously

in a sport like baseball, unless someone totally collapses, the host sites generally won't change much the last couple weekends of the season. there might be some slight changes, but it's really not too early to make a fairly accurate prediction.

Exactly. The old grey matter got tangled up there for a minute. I still recollect the time CSU came in and defeated one of Skip's most talented teams in a big regional; maybe around '92. I think that's the only other home regional they lost before last season but I could well be wrong about that too. Thanks for correcting me.

I wonder if Bregman would be playing for LSU if we didn't win the 2009 national title.

Regardless, the championship years mean a lot to me.

Hawgs have to get past Missouri State first...not as easy at it seems.

SE La playing some good ball...arguably now Louisiana's 2nd Best team

LSU vs Louisville in the 1st game of CWS would be interesting!

He has tried for jobs in Louisiana recently at Southland schools. I bet he gets one eventually.

SELU(3),

I don't like this. SLU has built a nice program up in Hammond. They were @ LSU last year. Its doubtful that they ever win a regional. I know they take travel and money into consideration, but come on send these guys to another regional so they can see something different.

They played a lot of road games non conference. Played some decent and some good teams. Their conference is having an abnormally good year. And the biggest thing that helps them is that the biggest RPI anchor on their schedule was rained out.
