Why is there a "U" sticker crudely pasted over the vent hole? Have they always done that?

The whole LSU is a decal. The U isn't an individual sticker.

There's no other way to lay the decal onto the helmet.

The sticker was designed before helmets had huge vent holes.

I'm sure they spent more money researching those cleats than my life is worth, but I'm a skeptical of the grip those are going to provide in even slightly wet weather.

Has there always been warning stickers on the helmets? I've never noticed them before
