No he doesn't, he's not the 7th highest paid coach in the country for nothing. This thing is over, Harris should look to get out if he feels he truly outperforms Jennings in the Spring. Unfortunately this could be the case. With our coaches history does anyone truly believe this will be a fair competition?

Who is the new guy that will battle for the position after Harris leaves? We are recruiting a qb no?

Harris won't be here when Jennings (JJ 2.0) is gone. He will have transferred by then.

If harris isnt the starter next year / we run the same system as this year, I will have lost all faith in this coaching staff.

you cant be serious? One half against auburn, first start in an away game against a top 5 team and you expected him to do amazing? It seriously frustrates me if anyone deserves credit for that performance its the coaches. Very little playing time and no starts leading up to a huge stage where your own coach only calls 3 passing plays midway through the second quarter, not to mention the predictable-ness of the calls. They set him up to fail.

Give Harris a fair shot and let the kid learn from his mistakes since its obvious Jennings was incapable of improvement

he played better than harris

fwiw i think harris will be our starter by kickoff next year, but i don't have to say how it's never gonna happen for the next 8 months to protect myself from a letdown.

The fact that Harris even got a shot was out of left field for Miles. In the past, he didn't really pull QBs. He waited until they got hurt (JJ replacing Lee in 08). The only time he switched due to performance before this was JJ replacing Lee in the Bama game, and then for most of the games after.

So, the fact that Harris got a start and that they hooked Jennings in the NMSU game and left Harris in for the rest of the game says something. They certainly didn't have complete faith in Jennings then. I can't imagine why that would have changed based on his performance.

I guess my theory is that the staff kept Jennings in after the Auburn game to "win now" while hope was still alive to compete for the West. The only head-scratcher in my theory is that Jennings continued to play in the Arkansas game. With the West out of reach, I can't understand why Harris didn't seen the field.

As for A&M, Jennings actually had a pretty solid game. He'll never be great, but he was ok passing and his 100 rushing was a huge boost. He certainly looked a lot more comfortable running what was a very different gameplan.

No matter what the plans are for next year, Harris needs time in the bowl game. It's a meaningless contest. Even if it puts a win in jeopardy, give the kid some time.

Les always goes with the one with the most experience even if it is just 1 game difference.

Nah some people need things to complain about so they make predictions that they don't like and pass it off essentially as fact.

My fear is that Harris will be working against a stacked deck. I think Les measures a seasons worth of qb starting experience in dog years...so Harris will have to play nearly flawless and Jennings would have to regress in order for there to be a change next year. Hi guys, I'm new

the only think Les has done that really speaks to this can also be explained by Les not wanting to start a true freshmen in what he knew was going to be down year anyway.

this definitely wasn't the case in the JJ JL situation.

I feel clm and cam gave harris every opportunity to win the starting job .... going all the way back to spring ...

I also believe that the competition is ongoing ...in fact I would say the coaches was actually hoping harris would step up ...

I just don't get why fans can not wrap their heads around the fact that harris is not ready yet ...

and im not saying aj did a good job this year (but at moments he did show improvement) but the fact is at this moment we have no one that was better ....
shite man I knew harris wouldn't start watching him way back in the ua game , anyone with a peanut sized brain could have seen that ...

and lets not talk about auburn .....

but to the op .... I think harris will start game 1 , next season.....

If a gun were to my head, and I were forced to place a bet for my life, I would bet on Jennings starting for the next two years, unless he gets hurt.

do you even watch the whole season bro?

outside of one first road start for a freshman harris outperformed jennings. LSU never had a chance to begin with in that game as is.

if you want to go by 1 bad game.. then freshman JT Barrett of Ohio St would have been done after throwing 3 INTs AT HOME vs VT.. VT.. and losing that game.. but he was allowed to play and have a tremendous season.

Harris has tremendous skill and potential and he showed it this season in very limited time. He was never once given a chance to redeem himself or work out the nerves.

Unfortunately, you're absolutely correct.
If that scenario actually goes down and the results are the same (1950's Offense that can't score points or compentently move the ball through the air against SEC competition) you'll see many empty seats in Tiger Stadium.

That's when the Fan Base has had enough and will just stay home in mass in protest. You saw it in the final of Archer, Hallman and DiNardo and you'll see it here in 2015 if Miles stubbornness and ego over rule common sense.

What's worse, playing bad against Auburn, or having a negative QB rating against new Mexico State?
