Negative attitude toward a positive situation

We have the best player in the country coming to play for our basketball team, and people will find a way to make it into a negative.
Will we make the Final Four? Probably not, but it is so wrong to be excited about the possibility?
And sure we don't know what kind of play we'll get from our bigs inside, but guess what, we didn't have a clue about that 2006 team either...a team that started 2 true freshman, a red shirt freshman, a sophomore and a senior.
This year's team has a good core group alongside Ben, good senior leadership in Hornsby and what seems to be a fairly deep bench.
We don't want to set expectations too high, but for fricks sake. Enjoy it, people.

Yeah reading that thread made me sad for some of our fans. Already expecting failure for this upcomming season is pathetic.

You understand, I hope, that you are addressing some who feel that the baseball teams College World Series appearance and fifth place finish nationally equated to a failed season.

Yea, I'm aware. I've come to expect that with baseball. I've got a soft spot for basketball.

It really is sad to read some of the posts that are written by some of our so called "fans". Doesn't matter the sport, all the coaches are idiots, players are failures. Alot of spoiled people in this fanbase. Some can't be happy no matter what happens

It is especially true in basketball. We have never had a coach in basketball in their first three seasons do what Johnny Jones has done in his first three seasons but yet its like this "fanbase" is waiting for him to screw up so that they can shite on the guy.

Hell, I thought the thread was concerning our QB situation. I was expecting a report on the rumor GoodOleLess has been seen daily in the DA's office. And to find a thread about not making the final four in baskets. WTF ?
