I see people mentioning Houston, Troy, etc. No one any good from a power conference. Pigs, UGA, in 2011 down 10 and 11 both turned to routs, Ohio St,in 2007, down by 10 same deal and GA Tech when Rohan came in in the 2nd half.

I think Badgers will have a great record and may win the Big, I believe they are a solid team not sure about a great one, time will tell, but other than Troy and Houston(not quality), I dont remember being this far behind and coming back against a quality team in my life, maybe it has happened. Older guys step up if it has.

For the criteria given by the OP it will be hard to find another. And it was a great comeback. AJ already has 2 4th qtr comebacks on his resume.

Some other noteworthy comebacks:
OM in 77
OM in 79

Both of these had a rivalry factor.

BTW, how is "comeback" defined in the rootball world?

Does a preseason rank of 14 mean much? Let's see where Wisconsin ends up and should LSU even have been down by 17 against a one dimensional opponent?
Well, Wisconsin does have an All American at running back, they are in a major conference. Just for fun, go look up their remaining schedule; they're going to finish higher than they started. They might end the regular season with an 11-1 record.

I suppose (for now) we can go ahead and mark this one down as the greatest come-from-behind deficit for victory against a ranked opponent ever! I agree that Wisconsin will end up winning their division and playing in their conference championship game. As for them being 1 dimensional they tried passing but our defensive backs played great and took away their passing game. Chavis decision to stack the box against the run was brilliant and one of the major keys to victory. What a way to start the season! NEXT! Geaux Tigers! Like Les said I like our chances in every game..... One at a time.

LSU-Ole Piss circa '77 in Jackson(when they used to do the double header there(bama-msu right after us)

I was there. Correct me if I am wrong. We were down 21 - 0 and came back and won 28 -21.

That was pretty epic. I definitely thought we were losing that one to Troy. But I stayed by my radio the whole game and was stunned.

LSU vs. Troy 2008

Definitely the coldest I've ever been in TS, and maybe coldest ever in my life.

Still stayed until 0:00

Eta: when Mills INTs that ball the next drive I knew it was over.

The INT was definitely the dagger, but I did a Les clap and started pacing right before that when Gordon got stuffed and then Wisky got the false start penalty. Even on TV you could tell the crowd (and BOTH teams) knew there was blood in the water. Then the Mills INT sealed it in my mind and I granted permission for people to start talking to me again.

#13 Lsu at #8 Tenn in 2006 down 17-7 in 3rd Q. Scored game winning TD w 9 seconds left 28-24 (nice score) Jamarcus handled early adversity and was clutch at the end. Big win. Big venue. Just another comeback for the Tigers.

You are correct! However, it was 21-0 Ole Miss early and 21-7 at halftime. LSU dominated 2nd half and won 28-21. Steve Ensminger led the offense to victory that day. Not quite a 17 point deficit in 2nd half but a very, very good Tiger victory.

ok. Your point is well taken. I was at the game Sat. night and to me Wisconsin is legit. Their QB is very mobile (i.e. NO sacks) and can throw the football. He was going against one of best secondary's in all of college football and his receivers were not seasoned vets. I would be shocked if Wisconsin lost another game all season. They were very, very good and like LSU should get nothing but better as the season moves along assuming they have minimal injuries. Their fans were awesome as well pre-game. After the game they looked a bit dejected.

Man that Troy game was awful. Stayed and remember doing the Angels in the Outfield crap then watching in disbelief as we scored 30 points in the 4th quarter and winning by 10 points.

They weren't down by 17, but in the 2000 Peach Bowl, we were getting spanked on both sides of the ball in the first half vs. #13 GaTech. Rohan comes in and sparks a great comeback. It was the start of something special at LSU in Saban's first year.

The Troy game was the coldest game i've ever been to, and i left after the last int Lee threw. Stormed out the stadium immediately, just couldnt' take it anymore.
First and only time i've not stayed to the end of a LSU game and i've been to well over 100 games home and away.
That being said, don't regret leaving that game. I'm glad we won, but i would not have enjoyed the comeback in person.
