Mettenburgers development = Miles and Cameron

This

if you can't remember how terrible Mett was (pains me to say that, my favorite Tiger in a long time) when he first got here you are delusional.

Seriously looked like he took 5 bong rips before he got on the field every drive; slow, apathetic, had his little time-out hut and everything. I'd never use the term "agile" or "mobile" to describe him, but he couldn't get out of pressure to save his life.

Then his last year here he was making NFL caliber throws and was a strong leader as well. Granted he had Landry and OBJ, but you could say the talent we have on WR is just as good if not better - only they are younger.

UGA didn't do shyt for him QB skill wise, it was demonstrated by how garbage he was when he got here.

Sure you can say it was Miles and Cameron - so it wasn't SOLELY Miles - but Mett had a raging hard on for Cameron, you could hear it in all his interviews. Miles was responsible for that by proxy.

Your question is dumb.

even if you hang your hat on mett, that's one QB who had one great year...out of SEVEN years

miles' identification/recruitment/development of QBs has been horrible

So we're blaming Les for QB development? Damn.

Yes, considering he was the head coach, and we didn't have a real QB coach from 2007-2012.

Miles gave a scholarship to Andrew Hatch. Let that sink in for a moment.

What? He wasn't a world beater but had the most passing yards by a QB since 2006, and only had 7 ints. While he wasn't blowing up, he wasn't hot garbage. Mett came to LSU with talent.

Why are we even talking about a JUCO transfer that fell into our lap? Miles' failure to recruit AND develop decent QB talent is the issue.

He wasn't developed very much by Georgia or his JUCO either. If he had been such a great polished passer, he'd of started over Lee his first year, and wouldn't have looked like arse in 2012. If it wasn't for Cam last year, Mett wouldn't have played nearly as well as he did.

HE WAS NOT SOLELY DEVELOPED BY CAM. WHAT ABOUT THE OP's question do you NOT understand???????

You can't. No QB that Miles has recruited from high school and developed has turned into a quality starter at LSU. Russell and Flynn were recruited under Saban, Mettenberger spent 2 years elsewhere.

The funny thing about your question is that Miles had to dismiss RP knowing the kind of shite storm it was going to create at the position. That must have been incredibly hard to make that decision.

And why does this even matter. He went and got Mett, regardless of who developed him, isn't the fact that we got him what really matters??

You're right. The fact that in 9 seasons, Miles hasn't recruited a QB from high school and developed him into a competent starting QB is completely irrelevant.

I think Mett was an outlier. We're back to a 2010 offense. The list of QB's recruited to LSU and failed for various reasons is long.

RP (discipline)
Hatch
Lee
JJ
Zack Lee
Garrett
Rettig
Rivers
Gunnar Kiel (Never made it to campus)

Not sure if there is any more.

Now we have AJ, who is questionable and a true frosh in Brandon Harris. I think Harris may pan out if he isn't ruined along the way.

Are you people really that dense?

He means, is there any qb that has been recruited out of hs to lsu during miles tenure, and played his whole college career at lsu that has been successful under miles?

Ineligibles:

Any transfers to or from juco
Any players who signed with lsu while Saban was the coach

frick, it's not that hard to grasp people.

Not a single recruit from hs ranks that signed with lsu during miles tenure at the qb position has been any good. Either bad or at best average.

Please tell me you are joking. LSU had a scholarship QB starter that could barely throw a fwd pass.
