There's no way there were 25 students there tonight. The whole place was thin.

Defensive effort is pathetic. Offense is lackluster.
Bottomline, TJ has NOT earned his paycheck thus far.

I'm a firm believer he will, for the record.

The lack of talent excuse is exhausting, Coastal was not as talented as we are... They dressed only 8 players and whipped our asses all night. Without the long ball we get drilled even worse. They fought and played harder than we did, they played as a team.

I've said it all years. The Lynn Nance hire is baffling to me. I defend and declare TJ to be the answer all over town, but when he puts performance and effort like that on the court he deserves some criticism. Tweet less, teach defense more.

The bottom line is that our post presence sucks. Storm and White just aren't that good. They lack offensive moves and are way too foul happy on defense. Our guards are almost always going to be undersized against other teams 1, 2, and 3. It's just tough. At least the SEC sucks so we should still win some games if TJ lets them get out and run.

We need Johnny O'Bryant now inside. He'd be our best post player immediately.

Also I love TJ and think we're definitely on the right track. I think it's laughable that so many people keep using the "we have talent" argument. We have 2 talented freshmen and a talented sophomore(who's knee debilitated him last year). Derenbecker has some talent may end up being a player. But overall just based on talent everyone else have is an average to below average D-1 player.

When the talent is not there, one way to overcome it is to really hustle. I'm disappointed to hear that they apparently didn't hustle in the game. I'm still willing to give TJ some time. Rome wasn't built in a day. This is a very young team and a new one (meaning the guys are still learning how to play with each other). Everyone has rather low expectations for this year, but we'll be back in another year.

I agree with a lot of what has been said. I still feel ok with the team considering they're young, but I don't know why we can't run an offense. It's like we're playing the pick at the top of the key and shooting a 3 every play or we are playing one on one. Poor D, turnovers, bad post play, and a nonexistent O is bad news.

i wonder how different things would be had lsu hired butch instead of trent? but i digress, because i think mr temple may be out of players.

seems that a lot of the lsu fan base for basketball who gave up because of brady have not come back yet....trent better hurry up and start winning, because he's not much of a fan base motivator.

So when does it start being the Coaches fault? Does he not Coach in practice?

Don't try to blame this on Brady. THIS team sucks arse and no one wants to pay good money to watch it. It has nothing to do with Brady. It has everything to do with the product on the floor.

Winning is important but I do think you could get more fans even if you lose provided you score some points.

i'm not blaming the current lack of fan support on brady, this is all on trent. but i do know that once you lose a customer for whatever reason, it's not always easy to get them back.

Losing home games to Nicholls and Coastal Carolina sure don't help. This crap is all 101% Trent.

former heisman trophy winner jerry stovall once told me that all you can give is 100%...he said there's no such thing as anything more than 100%.

Well I'm 100% sure Jerry Stovall never won the Heisman Trophy.

Offensively yes he has but on defense he is as soft as ever. CCU made sure to work their offense down low when Green was in the game

you're higher than giraffe pussy. White was the one getting abused. Green at least had a few blocks and didn't let them grab every offensive board.

Green was better than he has been offensively last night, and a little worse on the defensive and rebounding sides.

He'd be a quite serviceable player if he could put all three together.

It still looks like the team is trying to find out what and who works together.

Dotson, Stringer and Turner all bring something to the two guard position, but you can't play all three at the 2.

We have all 2's and all 4's and nothing in between, and none of the guys seem to be gelling.

I'd love to see Bass bringing the ball up, Stringer and Turner spotting up, and two bigs down low/setting screens. Harris and Warren aren't true bigs, so it makes it tough.

Dotson brought the ball up a good bit last night, so maybe Trent is trying to let Stringer and Turner focus on scoring.

I'm not sure what we were trying on offense but they didn't even try to get it in the post a lot. No screens set.

Why did we leave green on the bench when they were taking it right at white? I thought GG was the best post defender tonight. I was very disappointed with the lack of hustle the team showed. We had to get out rebounded by 10

It is coaching. The only way a team fails to consistently play well is due to coaching. TJ is one of my fav LSU coaches but he has failed to motivate this very young and talented crew.

No post play
No defense
Too many turnovers
No rebounding

FUNDAMENTALS!

You live by the three, you die by the three!

Sheep, I see that as well.
I wonder how much of a difference a guy like KC Ross-Miller would have made.
While Bass has improved a little, his total lack of scoring kills us when he's on the floor. If we had a low post presence, it might be different. But, on this team it's killer.
Stringer reminds me of DMitch. He's a shooting guard in a PG body.

I understand that White and Warren are limited, but there is no excuse for us to get outhustled down low. If TJ can get some serviceable play from White, Warren, Green, or Harris then you'll see this team start to improve. If not, it will be another long year.
