Many think Brandon isn't cut out for this job. With the 2 performances I would agree. But 3 games ago in the bowl game he showed a high ceiling.

I like the QB situation heading into this week. Brandon wants the job, clearly. It was his and taken. He wants this to be his team and it'll motivate him to perform better. Fournette and company were raving abt his poise, confidence, leadership in huddle ect.
Sure is a lot of pressure on a 20 year old w/ high team expectations.

Anyways, I hope Cam will utilize his skill set moving fwd. Get ahead in games and get him some PT. Simple runs, bubble screens, QB run-option and some deep PA plays.
We'll see
As of now QB situation has flipped and I think it's great for the both of them.

Here is to the beginning of week 3 vs State.

if we go to the conservative I-formation with 1 wide out like the 2nd half last week, it doesnt' matter who is the qb. the 2nd quarter, Etling looked good as we ran shotgun and 3 wide outs. But we will not run the 2nd qtr offense at all this week.

The Harris experiment is over.

It failed.

We have moved on.

You do realize that plenty of other teams win with true freshmen, right?

Don't you ever want to see the day when LSU has the better performing QB between the two teams playing?

If Harris stays in this past weekend...there is a solid chance that LSU would have lost to JSU.

Think about that for a minute.

In due time...we can drop Miles and his surrogates like bad habits as well.

Wow. I don't care to see BH on the field again. He had his shot and blew it.

I lost all faith in Miles last Saturday. I don't see Harris not playing sooner than later. I don't see us being productive at the position

Don't care to see BH see the field again? Well you're high if you think you won't see him on the field.

Yeah plenty of teams have success with TRFR QB in spread systems. High school offense, sling that ball around with good coaching.

Well we don't have the best coaching when it comes to coaching a DTQB in a Pro style O.
Much more difficult.

I'm not taking anything away from Etling whatsoever but my guess is that 6 will get more playing time then you think and I hope so. Because it's CF, and you never know what can happen..

So you want to use a QBs performance against the worst defense in the country as a measuring stick for who is better? Cool.

I do think Harris has lost his job permanently. I think this is just like the situation when Jennings got pulled for Harris against Auburn. Miles will just wait for an excuse for Etling and we will never see him again.

Lee was one of the most proficient passers in the country and still got pulled for JJ when he threw his 2nd INT of the season.

If miles wants to play Harris...fine by me.

That will ensure that Miles is gone sooner....since he should have been gone a long time ago.

But since I selfishly want a chance to win now with some competent QB play...I hope for Etling....because he is awesome.

That 2nd qtr was just about the most fun that I have had watching LSU ...in a long fricking time.

It is hard for all of us to see Les doing the right thing with the QB position after what happened in 2011. Well here we go again with Les having to back up on his choice for starting QB. Lee got screwed so bad in 2011 that it is one for the record books after the 2nd int against Bama in the game that JJ came in and did little but he did not throw a pick.

Lee never saw the field again even in the NC game when JJ with his shaking hands could do nothing.

Les has crowned BH his starting QB and in my world the future of CLM rest on this decision. What we saw out of #16 QB DE was a clear thinking normal college level QB doing his job. Don't look at stats but look at how he moved the team and the O seemed to have the rhythm that you never see with BH in the game.

DE is the clear choice I am sure to the coaching staff and if CLM forces BH back onto the field - fire him ! It would be stupid and hurt the chances of the team to become the best it can for this season.

BH did show more potential in the bowl game but I wouldn't say it was game changing. If BH has the tools for success, we would've seen 2nd quarter style play calling with BH under center. The problem is, he doesn't have the motor (not saying he will never have it) to run that style of offense and we desperately need an offense this year.

Many are placing the blame on the QB's right now and are overlooking the fact that our head coach is a bumbling idiot who tries to take these kids and force them into a system that doesnt fit their experience. It works for other schools because they know how to develop. We clearly don't do that.

What I am a fan of right now is that maybe BH will get a chance to learn from DE as he watches him take more of the 1st team reps this week.

Yea mighty southern miss and USA are guaranteed losses I tell ya! fricking chicken littles. You were probably one of the ones crying about how lsu will lose to Jsu but now are saying how you can't judge any improvement from this week because it was against a "D2" opponent. GFY you miserable shite.

Past history would support your statement and I agree Les will not bench Harris. He will look for every opportunity to keep #6 on the field.

Same offense, as a TEAM (3 QB's) we threw 19 passes. It doesn't matter who is handing the RB the ball

The reason the offense looked different with Etling Saturday night is because Cam utilized the skill set of the qb on the field. With Harris at qb, his skill set is limited, so the play calling is limited. It looked as though the team responded to his poise, confidence, leadership in the huddle. No time outs burned because he couldn't get the play off in time. I had hoped Harris had improved but he hasn't. He's had his chance. Now let's hope Etling can improve. He said he was rusty; 2nd quarter was great, 3rd not so much. Yes, it was Jacksonville State, but his performance in the 2nd quarter was what we should look like against such a team.

The thing i see is vast inconsistency with Harris. the short to medium throws that should be simple seem very tough for him... now yes when Harris is on he is great but when he isnt its terrible... now Etling has a lot to prove still but from what i saw he can consistently throw those with accuracy and consistency which is something i would rather than someone who can only throw deep balls...Etling yes will have to work on his deep ball throws but im ok with that because unless its broken coverage he would only throw deep 4 times in a game

Knowing Les, he's not just going to write off BH. Although he won't start, if Etling falters -- which is quite possible -- he will get another chance.

Note the number of true or redshirt freshman QBs that have excelled in the first 2 games of the season.

If I know the QB frickery that continues at LSU, Etling will implode against Miss State. Les will all Harris off the bench and he will win the game or keep it close. That's how I see it playing out.
