I was wondering why the hell why didn't let somebody else kick the ball off so we could get it into the endzone. the return coverage, imho, has been our biggest ST issue. kicking into the endzone essentially solves that problem.

I just couldn't watch the whole EM game, although I taped it and may watch it later. there were some real games going on on other channels. So I missed the part where Cameron Gamble was put on to kick. He was slow, and drew a delay of game penalty, but hopefully we'll get that worked out.

Keen isn't horrible; can be very good. punt returns and kickoff returns are pretty solid. field goal kicking is solid.

anyway, I was critical and the coaching staff was making an adjustment. Yea Tigers!

Here's the issue, BDP and Les don't want the ball kicked to the back of the endzone for a touchback. They want it high and returnable so that the coverage team can try to tackle the ball carrier before he reaches the 25 yard line.

Seeing at how bad our coverage unit has been, it's time to abandon that strategy and go for touchbacks.

It's an old rant joke when we have coaches that are either disliked or aren't very productive...emphasis on old

Absloutely. I don't care if LSU is playing the Lighthouse of the Blind, I'm watching every play.

Are you freaking kidding me? You missed a live LSU game to watch other teams?

Because you get it at the 25 and they are confident in their ability to tackle the returner before the 25 every time.

That confidence is clearly misplaced. The kickoff coverage has been the biggest weakness on the unit, and the punt coverage isn't much better. It's worse than Keehn's punting.

Which is insane and shows a complete lack of reasonable judgement regarding that scenario. You dont risk a TD or incredible field position for the chance at maybe 5-10 yards of field position. The risk reward is so freaking lopsided.

Im hoping this isnt actually the thought process.

I think this sums up our current fan base. You don't go to the game. You don't even watch the game. But you come on Tigerdroppings criticizing the coaches of one of the most successful programs in the last 10 years and absolutely the best ever seen at LSU. It is what it is but its kind of a shame, really.

I would like to believe that 99% of the people that post on this board would never miss a live LSU except for illness, wedding, etc.

But the OP...jeez

BOOM. This is a FACT and I have heard it straight from the man's mouth. And look....I have no problem with this in principal....and if you notice, Gamble did his job.....very high ball...good hang time...the damn coverage team just sucks at getting down field. We have no GUNNER.
