No surprise. The LSU fan reputation of not just traveling but taking over died the night Alabama had more fans in the Superdome.

I don't think Bama had more people. It just wasn't the overwhelming majority that we are used to in the Superdome, so it felt like they had more. It felt like about a 50/50 split.

To me, being in that stadium, it felt like 70/30 Bama

No way. Perception gets skewed when you sit in the stadium because it's tough to see all the LSU fans below or above you (depending on where you are sitting).

I was there as well and then watched the tv replay and it was certainly close to 50/50 as it should've been.

Can't wait, I know it's not a "major bowl" but 15 in a row with 4 SEC's and two NC's is enough for me to look forward to this game and Notre Dame a good National mathc-up. LSU fans will be louder even if more ND fans are there.

Well considering that the only possible thing to cheer about all game long was a blocked field goal, I can understand your feelings.

It was in our home state, only 60 miles from our campus, for the national title, and against our most hated rival. We should've had more fans there, despite Bama's reputation of traveling well. A ton of LSU fans sold their tickets to Bama fans. It may have been a 50/50 split, but it sure felt like a Bama home game to me. Ever since that game, something about our football program has been "off." Our fans have traveled very poorly ever since then.

The headline of this thread is misleading. Of the 55K tickets sold to the bowl game, LSU has only sold about 7K. That's nothing to brag about, considering that we used to bring upwards of 20K fans to bowl games in the past.

Still makes me sick to stomach to think about it. I never thought we'd ever play a game in the Dome and be outnumbered.
