Has no bearing on LSU FYI. LSU has to go 2 of 3 to have the advantage over MSST. If MSST goes 2-1 then they get the tiebreaker over LSU.

Nothing wrong with a little separating and watching Miss St decline after their hit start.

Now 4-0 for anyone not watching.

UGA bats last.

Yeah, while official standings might not be affected, it's absolutely not a bad thing for our upcoming opponent to start cooling off.

The tiebreaker only matters for SECT seeding. The SEC awards co-championships for regular season titles. In 2011, Florida, USC, and Vandy all were co-champions even though USC beat both teams in their regular season series. Ole Miss awarded an SEC title in 2009 even though we were tied with them and took the regular season series.

Exactly. It will rattle their confidence while LSU's confidence is high.

Miss State down to its last 3 outs. Top of the 9th inning starting. They're at bat.

Not only that. National seeding will come down to the wire and, while 2/3 may put us ahead of MSU in the hierarchy, any hits to their resume would help. LSU should frankly hope for UK to get swept by UF as well.

Ole Miss hangs on to beat Aggies

Current standings:
LSU 18-9
Miss St 17-10
Arky 15-10 (leading Vandy in 7th)
T A&M 15-12

With two wins in Starkville, we'll have 20 SEC wins and a solo divisional title.

What if a game is rained out next weekend, and we dont have time to make it up? Then it matters

So if we take 2/3 next weekend and come out with the same record as UF, we would both be legitimate regular season champs in the eyes of the NCAA/committee?

Not sure. Florida beat us fair and square. They would be the champs in my opinion.

Does 1 win next weekend clinch a top 4 seed in the SEC tourney?

As long as Arkansas loses at least one to A&M, I believe so. 2 wins will clinch the West, and a top 2 seed in Hoover.
