you must be laughing so hard you peed in your pants then. Freak is gone; Ego is gone. Wish it weren't so, but why stay. People want to make money playing football; doesn't mean they have to be first round picks.

I get aggravated with them too, was mad as frick last week, but you frickers act like schoolgirls...every. fricking. week. For literally years. You act like you're apart of some solution or some nonsense, when you have no control or power whatsoever.

Bro chill-lax, this is a fan based website that is all. It is here for fans like all of us to voice our opinions. Doesn't mean anyone's opinion is right or wrong but it is here to provoke thought and conversation. Both Nega-Tigers and Posi-Tigers alike need to recognize this.

I can tell you this, I was steaming mad after the game and getting on this board and conversing on the board has definitely helped me get some of the anger out and also help change some views of mine. I am still f*cking depressed over the loss, and not because the Tigers lost so much "although that is part of it" it is more because I saw some incredible opportunities for the team and the hard work they have put in go out the window.

If Freak and Ego return, and if we get Hootie Jones coupled with the players we have committed on the defense right now, the defense could be better...particularly if Gilmore and Bain have a good, productive off-season.

We lose Mett, Landry, Odell, Hill, Collins and a couple more on offense. That is the core of our offense.

We may have a very suitable replacement for Hill in Fournette if he commits (which I think he will). We could have a suitable replacement for either Landry or Odell if we can persuade Dhaquille Williams away from Auburn. Collins is hard to replace, if not impossible.

We may lose a little throwing ability with Mett, but I think Jennings will give us a little more pocket mobility, which should open some things up.

However, unless Diarse can come on strong, I am not confident in any of our other receivers.

Defense could be better if we keep some guys like Freak and/or Ego. It could be worse or the same if not.

Remember too, Texas A&M will be replacing some key players including the QB and maybe even the coach (USCw). Bama will be replacing some on their O-line and QB as well as losing Mosley, Clinton-Dix, etc.

Florida will continue to be what they are currently. Arkansas will be bad again. Auburn ill improve, State will be State and Ole Miss will be likely very good...but we get them at home.

There are a lot of IFs right now, but many of those IFs could fall our way.

I could see 8-4 or I could see 10-2.

Miles has a habit of rebounding from bad seasons. It is hard to see more than 2 or three losses on the schedule though, under any circumstance LINK

We drop UGA and pick up UK for instance...

Well I certainly hope they stay of course.

What have they shown to make you think they are NFL or draft ready?

I think we likely lose one of the two. Neither has lived up to their hype this year. This may be partly to do with no real back-ups to spell them during big games.

Lacouture is essentially an offensive lineman on defense and Quinton Thomas is not SEC level talent. There is no one to help them, therefore they get tired and are basically gone in the second half.

Bain and Gilmore not being ready has really hurt Freak and Ego...who are probably just not as good as we thought they would be as well.

In the Miles era I only recall one year where the TE was utilized and that was with Richard Dickson in national title year. LSU has the # 1 receiving tight end in the state last year and he doesn't see the field. Mett throws into double coverage three times against Ole Miss costing potential scoring drives. Mett never made it through his progressions against Fla with a wide open TE streaking down the field. I understand the TE will never be the first or second target on the route tree but with double coverage over the top someone had to have been open on the three picks sat night.

Defensive line has gone from the big space eaters to lean and quick to counteract spread attacks. You still have to be able to slow the run and LSU has sacrificed defensive line size and that has had a big impact on this defense. Tenn was the same way under Chavis when they had John Henderson and Haynesworth and then all of a sudden they downsized as well and Tenn struggled to stop or slow teams down.

Doesn't really matter, they will both get drafted and pretty high at that.

Obviously wide receiver will be downgraded considerably

Uhhhh that is going to be a problem but the bigger issue will be all the individuals we are going to lose on offense, which I listed in another thread.

Offensive losses at the end of the season.

Mett -sr
Copeland -sr
Blue - sr
Boone - sr
Wright - sr
Neighbors - sr

i assume these will be the early declarations

OBJ
Landry
Hill
Collins

I don't think you can assume LF will be Hill immediately next year, Hill is a freaking Beast. Maybe the year after but I don't think he will replace the production next year. I hate to say this but it looks like we are going to have the same issues on offense as we did on defense this year. Hopefully our OL will be a beast next year and help out tremendously.

so does next season fall on Cam's ability to get Jennings ready?

I have stated it on other threads and have for the most part gotten beat up for it, but I realize from the comments that were made the individuals making the comments have no experience in the game except on Madden NFL.

Cameron & Miles should start to get AJ meaningful reps from now on out. To me meaningful is a qtr a game. The only game I would be limited on is Bama because of their defense and coaches but all the other 3 no question a qtr a game. Too important for next year, you have an opportunity to season your completely inexperienced starting QB for next year with the outcome of the games this year only depending on what bowl game you now go to, YOU TAKE IT. And with the other impending losses on offense you get Dural and Brazil reps also.

quote:

The rest of the team will remain largely intact,

That maybe true, but the linebacker play is so horrendous it is now down to this. Through 8 games whoever can't see we have the wrong personnel on the field at the LB spot is freaking blind, including our coaches. What is a bigger problem is if what we have on the field is the best we got, then we are really screwed and means we either can't evaluate talent, recruit talent or coach the talent better than what we have. Pick your poison but it is one or the other. But something has to change damn-it because we have issues at the linebacker play big-time.

And if we can fix the linebacker play for next year the DL will look a whole lot better. I could go into why it is important for the linebacker to play gap sound defense but it is too long and boring. But if they could fix the linebacker play, I can promise you the entire defense would look almost to old form. Please note I said ALMOST.

If we lose Landry, Hill, OBJ we will have a terrible year next year. 8-4 would be the topside potential.

So what this is a discussion board is looking into the future not allowed, we can't talk about it. What you are not understanding is those 5 games are basically just a month in time at this point if you don't count the bowl game. We can't look out past a month now!!!

This is a fan based website let them bring their opinions and thoughts to discuss, if you don't want to talk past a month in time than don't.

Wisconsin - in Houston, Tx
Sam Houston State - BR (Win)
UL-Monroe - BR (Win)
MS State - BR (Win)
New Mexico State - BR (Win)
Auburn - Away
Florida - Away
UK - BR (Win)
Ole Miss - BR
Open Date
Bama - BR
Arkansas - Fayetteville (Win)
Open Date
Texas A&M - College Station

You have 6 sure fire wins, even under bad circumstances...

You have another likely win in Wisconsin in Houston...that gives you 7 wins.

Say we split Auburn and Florida...8 wins

Say we split Bama and Texas A&M...9 wins

Beat Ole Miss at home and you have 10 wins...and that is not a stretch under any foreseeable circumstance.

I'm just as disappointed and pissed as the next guy, but we should win 9 or 10 games next year, even with the likely losses of starters to the draft and eligibility.

One more thing...we can win 10 games this year...it is obviously not likely, but it can happen. I personally think we split between Bama and Texas A&M and finish 9-3.

I don't think it would be a terrible move by our staff to give a little more attention to the young guys that will suit up next year. You're an idiot if you don't think they will receive extra attention during the bye week. We need to get out in front of the competition somehow and this could very well be a good move that will payoff in the future. I'm not saying wholesale change, but maybe more opportunity for the guys showing promise and who will be mainstays next year.

its our fault les miles cant prepare the team and can't call timeouts when he is suppose to call them. The god damn fans that point it out are the problem with the program not the person that admits to once again not preparing his team properly and then comes up with a retard excuse like i was trying to organize a block when i realized i forgot to take the timeout. if we were all good fans and just shut the frick up les would fix the problem
