In recent memory, I feel similarly to OP. But also slightly could differ on which A&M loss was more disappointing. I’ll go with:

‘20 Florida - shocker and ruined a seeming coaching juggernaut path with Dan Mullen until then.

7 OT A&M year - the circumstances, the aftermath… although maybe we never become 2019 LSU without that taste in our mouths.

Most Surprising? 2020 Florida.
it’s between this one and 2022 Alabama.

Love owning the gators though. They were just an SECCG win away from being playoff bound if they beat us in that last game of the season.

instead they took the opposite route and are 17-24 since that game with 3 straight losing seasons

Most disappointing……a lot.

Being blown out by Kentucky and Kansas State.
Embarrassed by UCLA
Beaten down by Miss State
Losing twice to Florida State

Also, having a scrub QB from Miss state throw for 623 yards and set SEC passing records vs LSU’s defense in a double digit loss in LSU’s first game after winning the national championship.

The obvious choice for the loss is 2022 A&M. An underrated choice for the most disappointing loss though may be the 2021 Auburn game. The fact that we let a shitty arse team led by Brian Harsin and Bo Nix come into TS and beat us to end the Cigar Curse made me astronomically pissed off. I was quite inebriated that evening but that was one of the angriest I’ve ever been leaving tiger stadium.

Ed's pink slip was drafted that night. Kentucky was the nail.

Most surprising would be the win in 2020 at Florida.

For me, it was the 2021 game vs. Florida. LSU was 3-3 in that game coming off an embarrassing blowout vs. Kentucky. Going into that game it felt like LSU was essentially repeating the bad 2020 season and hopes for anything better had pretty much been dashed. The thought was that the end was near for Orgeron (and it was...though no one really knew that before the game). Florida had played #1 Alabama tough a few weeks earlier and was coming off a dominant win. Albeit vs. Vanderbilt. It was an 11:00 home kickoff and NO ONE was excited for the game. The people I usually go to the games with couldn't make it, so I decided to go by myself. One, because I was going to watch the game anyway. Two, it was an absolutely beautiful mid-October Saturday. I think it was something like 68 degrees at kickoff with a bright blue sky. I figure the worst case scenario is that LSU would get blown out by the 3rd quarter and I could head on home...Then LSU started to absolutely dominate Florida. The team that really couldn't run the ball to that point in the season started to crush Florida. I think LSU literally ran the same play over and over, and Florida couldn't stop it.

The most disappointing has to be the loss in 2022 at Texas A&M. Especially after beating Alabama in OT just a few weeks before.

Absolutely! Many probably forget, but LSU was ranked #5 in the playoff rankings heading into that game. They had already clinched the SEC West and with a win vs. A&M would have been playing Georgia with a playoff berth on the line. A&M on the other hand was bad. 4-7 with seemingly nothing to play for. Unfortunately, LSU had some key missed opportunities, Daniels was injured, and A&M was the first team to really figure out how to make Perkins a non-factor (and trend that continued all through last season with House never being able to adjust). A disappointing end to an otherwise surprisingly good season.

Surprising - 2020 Florida, 2022 Bama
Disappointing - UCLA, 2020 Miss St., 2020 Auburn (bo nix embarassing us), 2020 Mizzou, 2021 Kentucky (whipped our arse), 2022 Texas AM, 2021 Florida State

2020 Florida. Not just because it was surprising but the way it happened.

Almost too many losses to choose from but it’s close between UCLA and Kentucky in 2021. UCLA because it was obvious we were in for another long year. Kentucky because it was Kentucky and the final score did not reflect how much of a blow out that game was.

to me most disappointing is, i'll say FSU in 2023.......yes, they were a good team, but i feel like kelly and co had a little too much confidence and not enough "lets get to work" pre game. and we had the entire offseason of "revenge" and just couldn't get it done.

2022 FSU felt more disappointing than 2023.

I agree - about mid-way thru 2nd quarter of FSU game I actually had the thought “we have the momentum and FSU isn’t anything spectacular. After all this hype it will disappoint everyone when we pull away and win 38-16”. Instead, FSU noticed we did not know how to cover a crossing route…

100% this.

Probably costs us a NY6 bowl. That whole week I was nervous. Achane was back for that game.

I told all my LSU folks, we better be ready. "Achane will be on fire. This is his last shot at getting into the NFL. If he has a bad game, instead of his last name on the back of his shirt, he'll be wearing his first name on the front of his shirt. That's all the motivation you need." And yep, he smoked us!

how much of a blow out that game was

It was brutal from start to finish. Not to mention a gruesome injury to Kayshon Boutte on a spectacular reception, in the fourth quarter

You can put the Arkansas game right after that as most disappointing win. They couldn't do crap on offense. Perkins singlehandedly won that game for LSU.
