Hosting a regional.

That doesn't change the goals.
Win the SEC reg season.
Win the SEC Tourny.
Go to Omaha.

I think it's already a success. What they've done with 8 new guys is incredible considerin the drop off from last year.

The state of our baseball program is strong.

What makes for a successful year and what is expected of a certain year are different things entirely. Most people thought we would be a bubble team just to make a regional and hosting wasn't likely. The baseline for a successful season at LSU is hosting/winning a regional. That doesn't change, expectations of certain teams can. I remember when the polls first came out, you couldn't find one poster who didn't think LSU was overrated. Most thought getting to 15-15 in the sec wasn't likely. A team can outplay expectations and still not reach the floor for a successful season.

Since you qualified the question by using the word minimum, I would say making a regional would be the minimum for declaring this season a success.

LSU will make a regional so the minimum required by my reckoning will be achieved.

If you're a top 8 team, shouldn't it be at least a super regional?

Before the season I said hosting a regional was the benchmark this year. Anything more than a regional win is gravy.

They've already exceeded the minimum.

Omaha... why are we lowering expectations because we lost 8 starters? We are LSU. Spare me the this is a new era of college baseball. We still are LSU
