by your theory, we could never replace a coach and keep recruits

your theory is put to a serious test when we consider jimbo (amazing recruiter) leaving and crowton (anti-recruiter) coming in without losing anybody of note. or did we lose a commit after that transition?

On the Offensie side of the ball, although with Shepard being Loston's cousin..that would make me a little nervous.

That's not my theory. My thoery is you start messing with Coordinators or Head Coach late in a season, you will lose.

Jimbo was not amazing IMO. He has no NFL experience & but is part of the good 'ol boy network. Sure we lost someone of note: QB E.J. Manauel & a few others.

if you can't mess with them late in the season/before bowls, then when can you interview for new coaching staffs?

Miles has brought in amazing talent. But you fail to takeinto consideration youth.

Here's Freshman Glenn Dorsey: 12 solo tackles & 18 total tackles & zero sacks

Does that look anything like a Lombardi Trophy winner's numbers?

other than PP, i don't know if any starter on D is in their 1st or 2nd year. only a couple are in their 3rd years (jai, mccray, alem)

Preferably after the Recruiting Class is signed. You have what? 8-9 months of No Football?

I'm thinking we got 1 of the 11 Starters came into fall camp & is starting already. To me, that is a huge success. I'd feel really bad if LSU needed another freshman Starter from the 2008 class. Hatcher looks very good.

I only used Dorsey as an example of that players do get better, though age & experience.

wouldnt call it old when you look at the amount of players coming back that have gotten significant playing time this year.

we have a player coming back from almost evey position that has played a lot this year except MLB and one side of the DE.

The old adage: Good news, we have a lot of veterans returning. Bad news, None of them have played at a championship level and won a starting position on a bad defense.

just looking at next years defense, i think we will be much better with corners getting another year of experience.

our DL has to be better. htey've gotten absolutely no pressure all year.

our LB's to me would be the weakest spot.

Is it a foregone conclusion that Miles will fire/demote Peveto/Mallory? He really needs to. Look what retaining poor coordinators did for DiNardo .. got him fired. Not only does Miles need to go out and hire a top-notch D-coord, he needs to do it BEFORE NSD, and not drag his feet. Would love to see him make a run at Phil Bennett or Paul Rhoads ... both of their head coaches may be fired at season's end. I like Miles a lot and he has done great things at LSU, but this is big time, baby. He hit home runs w/ the hires of Pelini and Crowton (yes I"m still a Crowton man) but he needs to hit another home run w/ this d-coord. hire.

IMO, he needs to clean house defensively. This team is getting away from Miles. I believe the decision may not be entirely his. If he doesn't make significant changes, and has similar results next year, he is history @ LSU - a la Dinardo. KC.

He is. SFP doesn't let facts get in the way of his assertions.
