For hiring his buddy Cammy Cam.
So why is O telling us he’s known Steve Ensminger since 1979 like we should care?
Does the fact that they’ve been friends for nearly 40 years mean he is gonna use the tight ends more and no longer run the toss dive??

What it means, hopefully, is he won't interfere like he did with Canada. This is all contigent on the product Ensminger produces, but the silver lining is Orgeron has someone he can trust.

That is not remotely true. When Miles hired Cam, most thought his NFL pedigree was the perfect fit for LSU.
Miles got ripped to shreds for not firing Cam after it was clear his system of QB development was not working.
Les gave us enough reason to fire him without this revisionist history.

Miles wasn't ripped for hiring Cam, most people were very positive of the hire. We just didn't know Cam was going to do whatever Miles wanted to do. There's no evidence that Ensminger is going to do that.

If it was the main reason, yes. I would imagine the vast majority of HCs hire assistants they know or are comfortable with.
The fact that there was no legitimate search is where we should be most concerned with regards to the HC and AD. To not make a concerted effort to ensure that we made the best choice is extremely troubling. I have nothing against Ensminger and like what he wants to do with the offense, but the way this all went down was wrong.
