Heard this today on 104.5. Hopefully Miles gives Etling a long leash. Etling sure looked great in the 2nd Quarter, Les needs to allow him to build on that.

Someone else said earlier today, and I agree, that we don't really have the luxury of giving anyone a long leash. A loss in the season opener will do that kind of thing.

We just don't need a replay of the whole JJ/JL fiasco. Pick the guy that gives LSU the best chance to win, and stick with him.

Only Les Miles could find a way to make a 13 win season where the offense averaged 30+ per game feel like a massive clusterfrick.

Not saying he didn't say this, but Miles is the most calculated/elusive coach's talk guy I've ever seen. Why would he tip his hat on the QB situation?

I agree. You've got roughly one game left to figure it out.

Not sure but he did. Also said we could see 2 or 3 QB's play. It all came true. I posted it before the game started.

Les needs to be locked in a kennel during the game. Just leave him some grass and a water bowl.

You can't really put Etling on that short of a leash at least not like you had with Harris. The team has had plenty of time to evaluate Harris and they know what is there.

You cannot pull a qb out of game every time he goes through adversity. Much like LSU qb's before him, Etling deserves a chance to prove how he reacts to adverse and problematic games situations. Harris has had over a season of evaluation in this department so his leash in actuality was pretty damn long

Yeah, it needs to be solidified before we go to Jordan Hare. If he decides to go full on JJ/JL, Etling's leash should be a good bit longer than Harris' IMO. Who the frick knows with Les, though. All summer I've been thinking BH would come out being efficient and moving the offense, and that there was no way a guy who lost the starting job at Purdue would ever contribute here, a la Rob Bolden. Well, now I know Etling should've taken the first snap in Green Bay....

This. The only thing is Harris has not gotten any better, so if Les does yank Etling, the offense will once again be one dimensional and predictable.

"We will need both guys to play in every game," Miles stated. "We are not turning out back in any way on competition at that position." WWL radio

That's not true AT ALL. At some point a guy earns a long leash. Danny may or may not have done that yet. We will see. But his leash should be at bare minimum the next football game. Harris can come in on various plays or whatever, but the last frickin thing we need is 2 QBs feeling like if they make a bad throw or TO they will be pulled.

And then we will have our only 2 real options at QB playing scared. It's human nature. Give Dan some room for error. They did it with Harris, damnit.
