quote:

BATON ROUGE - LSU head football coach Les Miles notified LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva on Tuesday morning that he will remain at LSU.

"I am pleased to announce that Les Miles will remain the head coach at LSU," said Alleva. "Les has led this program to many great successes on the field and his players represent LSU well off the field. We look forward to many great years of LSU football under his leadership."

Miles will have a press conference upon his return from Dallas where he is speaking at the convention of the American Football Coaches Association.

He realized that artificial turf at Michigan isn't as tasty as Tiger Stadium grass.

He would've been stupid to leave. LSU is a great job. He's just got to stop getting out coached all the time and LSU would be a power house. I'm a Vol but I like the HELL out of Les. The SEC needs a guy like him in the league.

Coach Miles is one of the best coaches in LSU history, and one of the best in the country now.

Thank you for staying, Coach.

I'm glad he's decided to stay. Aside from what he got from the deal, it says something about the guy that he'd choose us over his alma mater. Anyway, I look forward to:
• A great incoming class
• The introduction of a talented new quarterback into the mix
• (Hopefully) an improved Jordan Jefferson
• Continued development of RBs Ware, Ford, etc.
• Emergence of Randle as an elite WR
• Maybe a new OC
• Playing Auburn, Arkansas and Florida at home
• Etc., etc
Can't wait for the 2011 season to start.
