On Keiland Williams having more opportunity in these final games…

“The key is how bright you shine. He has plenty of time here to distinguish himself and distinguish his career. We look forward to his efforts. His efforts were very good Saturday night. He made some extra effort runs and pounded the line of scrimmage very well. I look forward to how he finishes his career.”

BS on anything Miles says. Mile gives the kid 8 carries total in 5 games. not sure wtf kind of effort he can put forth when he only get that many touches.

I have been a critic of KW for a while now. What he did Saturday looked different. No shuffle. No hesitation. Loved watching him run like that.

I just hope KW has blockbuster games v. OM and Arky. I'd give just about anything to see him upstage McCluster on Saturday. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's unlikely. Just sayin'.

i dont know what team you haters have been watching the past few years

because the Keiland Williams i've seen since his freshman year has done nothing but impress me every time he touches the ball

i remember saying he was going to be star from the very beginning and i think its a DAMN shame he hasn't gotten his proper due

I would imagine he is saying KW doesn't put forth a good effort IN PRACTICE

No boubt about it, he moved the pile and got effort yards for the first time I can remember. In the past, he seemed to only gain yards if he was untouched. He was dragging guys for extra yards last week. I hope he continues to run hard the rest of the season.

Yet, after Keiland has been tearing La. Tech up and we're only up one score, we throw the ball 6 straight times on back to back 3 and outs. I just don't get it.

IN PRACTICE

Practice? We talkin bout practice?

As an unabashed KW-lover that replays all of his carries (doesn't take much time most games ), I'm going to have to agree with you that it was the first time I remember him getting the "effort" yards and dragging people and moving a pile. His normal extra yards came from a nice move, not pushing through traffic.

I think he's been a different back all season. Sure he's had some moments of tippy-toeing and indecision, but I think an objective person would notice that he was improved from the beginning of the season, not just this week. After the first two games, people were saying just that and that he was our best back at the time. Scott was better against ULL, everyone sucked against Miss State, and then he hasn't played much since.

This was the first game where he succeeded in any "powerback" runs, which is why he looked so much more different than even the beginning of the season's improvements.

I liked Miles for some time, but he is slowly getting to me as the H.C. of this LSU Football team. He always says little or nothing of importance. His jawing is becoming rediculous. K.W. was misused his entire career under Miles and the LSU offensive staff. I think the way he uses players and if he continues to misuse them, or he over glorifies them but doesn't back up his words; that this will work against kids wanting to come to play at LSU in the future with him as their H.C.

Please read the way this man answers questions at a press conference. There are H.S. kids who could a better job.

On if Williams will be more of the featured back for the rest of the season…
“I think he gets the first go. The good news is we have some guys there to keep him fresh. In other words, we don’t want to just call Keiland Williams’ number and not have the ability to spell him with Stevan Ridley. I think both will work hand-in-hand, but I’d like to see No. 5 get on track and going and see how well he can play the back end of his career.”

A total misuse and a waste of talent if you ask me. I respect K.W. and I wish him well and I personal believe that he will play at the next level.

He has a "want" now that he knows this is it. He didn't always have that. He moments of it. Then he had about the same number of moments of looking like he couldn't see a hole to save his life. Or fumbled. He looked great against La Tech. But lets get real here, that was La Tech. A brutalized La Tech.

He's got the shot Saturday to make his mark though. It's all riding on this one game for him. He's got to perform against Ole Miss. If he establishes a running game like he did against Tech, JJ can start opening up the pass game. Only other part of the equation is putting half the defense on DMC to insure he doesn't get anywhere and we can win this game.

Gotta prove it now. Are we winners or are we giving up?
